P.S. It seemed to reorganize the order of my images but go by the names – step one, step two, step three. Thanks!

First, I’m relieved to know you didn’t abandon that feature.

However, I’m baffled as to why it wasn’t available to me through the dashboard. I definitely do know how to do this, as I have updated plugins and WordPress many times. When I received the email announcement that the update was available, I went to exactly where you are telling me it should have been, and there was no update to be seen. Huh. If it happens again, I will let you know, now that I know you still intend for that feature to be functional.

Thanks for getting back to me!

I fixed the child theme thing. But I am quite unhappy about being told (before I purchased Neighborhood) that you would have auto-updates for this theme and then after I bought it you now have to update manually. Here is a direct quote from Swiftideas’ response to my presale question. I am also including a screenshot of that page:

“Yes, we see auto-updates as being vital, and much easier for our customers to keep up to date.”

Huh? This feels like a bait and switch. Please explain.

One more question on this. If there is no additional information for the product, the tab appears empty. Is there a way to have the tab not appear at all? It seems incomplete to show an empty tab. Thanks!

Hi. Yes, I have contacted the developer of the plugin and it seems that my problem is my interpretation of the definition of a template. Regarding the template that I created in your page maker, he says this:

“… that’s not a template file, it saves only the elements from within that page, in case you want to reuse them. Also, if a template file would have been created, you would see it inside the “Page Attributes” menu, on the right side, as an option to choose from existing ones.”

So knowing this, am I understanding correctly that there is not a simple way to create a true custom template (one that appears in the page attributes menu) except with some coding (which I don’t think I’m equipped to do)?

    Thanks so much!

Thank you. That helps! – I guess I wasn’t adding the correct asset, although I thought I had tried adding some assets to the content without success. Maybe not.

What I want to do is create a page that has the WooCommerce sidebar but is otherwise an “empty slate”. I’m using a plugin called Taxonomies Filter. When it returns the search results, by default, it is using a template called search.php. There is a place to put in a custom template name for the plugin, which is what I want to do. Currently, the default search.php template has the sidebar that contains posts (I think it’s the default “sidebar 1”.) but I want it to look like the products page so a person can use the filter again if it doesn’t deliver the desired results.

Anyway, based on your answer I am now able to get a template to save (I’ve named it search_results), but for some reason the plugin is not using it, even though I set the template to be the one I just created. Maybe I need to contact the plugin author. (?)

It’s not showing but I haven’t filled in size, weight, etc. because those fields don’t seem to work for my products, so I guess that is the problem. The products are greeting cards, so what I want to say is something like “Card is 5×7″, printed in USA on beautiful high quality stock that is %30 post consumer fiber.” I was hoping to put that under “additional information”. I’m not sure how to do that. If I must put it in the “description”, I will do that, but then how would I make the other accordian fields disappear if they are empty?

    Thanks again!

My pleasure! I was planning on doing that anyway.

Oh wow. I think I figured it out. Correct me if I am wrong, but it’s in theme options > Woocommerce options. 🙂

I’ve given up on using the demo data by now but just for some more feedback, I only tried the alt version, and it never did work completely. However, I did end up with the pages after I deleted my website and reinstalled WordPress and the theme, starting from scratch. But I was never able to upload any images, which made some of the pages look weird. Anyway, this leads me to believe that it has something to do with either the images being too big, or not where they are supposed to be. ? Or…?

Wow, I’m so impressed that you cared enough to follow up on this. I’m very impressed thus far with your support! (Just switched to this theme from another premium theme so I’m doing a little comparison in my own mind.) 🙂 You are winning.

Anyway, I have only just gotten back to this point yet because of all of the problems I had trying to upload the demo data (per the request of neoswift above). Ended up completely deleting my site & database and reinstalling WordPress, the theme, plugins, etc. (per suggestion by my host) which still didn’t work, except for the non-image related pages. 🙁 And I had three copies of each page because of trying to do it three times after reinstalling. But no images. What a mess.

I’m pleased to say that at least things are now working great with the shop images! Thank you so much for checking with me (and for your clarification above). It makes me even more glad that I switched to this theme. It’s beautiful, I love it, and the support is second to none. I can’t say enough. (Plus, your documentation is quite helpful, and so are the pages that I was able to upload. I can see that you go to great lengths to make it as painless as possible.)

Ok, so I’ve been working on this and discovered the part about turning on auto include in global settings (in the comments section on Themeforest). So now I see why the slider wasn’t appearing in with the page builder. So that problem is all solved.

I also figured out that the default grid size of 960 x 350 was doing crazy things to my image because of the 1200px width of the theme container. So I changed it to 1200 x 350, made a new image that size, and it works. However, only if I use “custom”. If I use “responsive”, it crops the bottom again. But I think I can live with custom.

I’m sorry to have bothered you with this. I think at least this issue is under control. Whew.

Very excited to get going with this gorgeous theme. 🙂

Thank you so much for your kind response. I’m feeling very much like a fish out of water here. (I’m not a WordPress web developer, just a person trying to build one’s own website, so bear with me.)

    2) THANK you! I see that now. Perfect.

    1) As for the slider, things have gone from wierd to wierder. When I use the page builder, and put in the Revolution slider, using the alias, then view the page, it does not appear at all. However, if I then go into “classic editor”, and put in the short code for the slider, when I view the page there are TWO sliders, one on top of the other. But if I remove my short code for the one slider, they both disappear again.

Here is what the code looks like when you can see the sliders:

    [rev_slider home-slider]

    [spb_revslider revslider_shortcode=”home-slider” width=”1/1″ el_position=”first last”] [impact_text include_button=”yes” button_style=”standard” title=”Buy now” href=”/features/” color=”accent” size=”normal” type=”roundedarrow” target=”_self” position=”cta_align_right” alt_background=”alt-seven” el_class=”mb0 mt0 bt0″ width=”1/1″ el_position=”first last”]

And here is what it looks like when the slider does not appear (this is the code placed by the Swift Page Builder):

    [spb_revslider revslider_shortcode=”home-slider” width=”1/1″ el_position=”first last”] [impact_text include_button=”yes” button_style=”standard” title=”Buy now” href=”/features/” color=”accent” size=”normal” type=”roundedarrow” target=”_self” position=”cta_align_right” alt_background=”alt-seven” el_class=”mb0 mt0 bt0″ width=”1/1″ el_position=”first last”]

What is very interesting about this is that after I posted my original question above, I attempted to upload the demo data (per the suggestion of someone who was trying to help me with another issue). I had many problems, and to make a long story short, ended up completely deleting my website, data base, etc. and re-installing WordPress and the theme again. I tried again, unsuccessfully to upload the alt data. Some of it worked but not most of the images. Which means that many of the pages didn’t work, like the home pages, shop pages, etc. Anyway, before I deleted and reinstalled, the Revolution slider did appear with the Swift Page Builder. But after, it didn’t.

I’m sort of taking one step forward and two backwards. Or maybe just two backwards.

So here is the page with the first block of code:
    http://sassypantsdesign.com/home-2/

Here is a test page with the image as it should appear. Note that you can see at least some of the noses of the two middle dogs, unlike in the slider. You can see that the dogs are not as short and fat.
    http://sassypantsdesign.com/test-page/

Just in case it’s relevant, the grid size set for the slider is 960 x 350. I made the image the same size, but 150 ppi (for the retina feature). So the aspect ratio should be correct.

Hi – Yes, I did check the box to import. Well, at least on some of my attempts. When I did that it would hang up for quite awhile and then come back with the message that many of the imports failed. It appears that most of the images were not uploaded.

As for the slider doc, I have read it but didn’t actually realize I needed to do that for the demo pages. Sorry. 🙁 Not sure it matters since no images uploaded, however.

But I think I’m going to give up on the demo pages for now. I only needed them because 1) I am having a problem with my products and the person helping me asked me to upload the demo, try one thing, and then get back to him. 2) I also wanted to see the size of the large image used in the Revolution slider because of some problems I am having with aspect ratio on mine.

I’ll keep watching this thread, though, in case I get some insights. Thanks for your great support. 🙂
