    Sure Ed. It are all the images displayed on the post detail pages, like this page:

    Oil disaster

    When you look at the source you see the alt tag of the large image is just a duplication of the image name, it would be better if the custom entered alt information in the admin would be displayed. When using an SEO plugin it doesn’t help either. It keeps displaying the image name in the alt info. I would love to change it myself in the single.php code, but don’t know how 🙂

    Thx,
    Tom

    Thx Tahir,
    I did, but the weird things is it only happens with the facebook share, not with the pinterest share.

    I found the solution. make a new class:
    .classname {
    float: right;
    }

    and refer to it in the “extra class name” box field. That does the trick for me.

    On most pages (blogs, portfolio, …) image alt information in the code is a duplication of the image name, even when different alt information for an image was entered. I would be good if the modified information is used as alt value and only the image name duplication if nothing was entered by the admin.

    Yes I have. It occurs after editing a page a few times and changing the featured image. I now discovered that when I duplicate the page to a new one, it displays the correct featured image in FB. This makes me think it could be a cache problem of the browser. Anyhow, duplicating an existing page to a new one, with the same content and featured image fixes the problem, it’s a good workaround for me.

    You are right Ed, I feel a bit silly since I can’t seem to reproduce it. I’m pretty sure I saw empty alt tags (alt=””) in the code but can’t find how I generated those pages anymore. I’ll change the status to resolved for the time being but will reopen when I find where this occured, ok?

    I want to add that this is the case when using the thumbnail content in de detail post page. In that scenario the detail page generates blank image alt information for that thumb. When emebedding the same thumb as an image in the detail page the alt information is there.

    Also, in the default blog page (here: http://sodafish.com/blog/) all image tags are blank in the code, while there is tag information entered. But it is not generated.

    I want to add this is the same for the portfolio thumbs. Self entered Image alt information is ignored. It’s not blank there though, it seems to take the page title information as image alt information. This is fine, but when entering specific alt information for media files it would be nice to see this generated in the code.

    I see. Yes, when I do this it takes that image to pinterest.
    However, that’s not how it should work since there are often more images in a page.
    Here you see what the original pinterest button does:

    If you click the pinterest button on the left you will have a choice which image to pin.
