featured image social share

Hello,

There is something I don’t understand and I hope to find an answers here.
I have a page and have selected a featured image. When I click the pinterest social share icon it takes this featured image to pinterest. But when I click the facebook icon it takes the default user avatar instead of the featured image. You can check this here: http://sodafish.com/music-icons/
I have looked into this several times but can’t find what is causing this, I’m also not sure if it has to do with the Dante theme or with some other wordpress settings. Am I overlooking something here?

Yes I have. It occurs after editing a page a few times and changing the featured image. I now discovered that when I duplicate the page to a new one, it displays the correct featured image in FB. This makes me think it could be a cache problem of the browser. Anyhow, duplicating an existing page to a new one, with the same content and featured image fixes the problem, it’s a good workaround for me.

It is likely that there is a server configuration issue. Please contact your host and ask them to refresh the server cache more frequently.

I did, but the weird things is it only happens with the facebook share, not with the pinterest share.

As far as I know, Facebook cache the URL for a while – so likely not much you can do about that!

I have the same issue. I set a featured image for http://monroedesign.se/ three days ago, but Facebook still doesn’t show that image when I link to my site in a post. Any ideas?

@lobsterass – Please provide a specific page url and make sure that you are doing NGFB Meta Plugin.
