That may be, but your answer is not at all helpful. I need something more specific. Should I be regenerating thumbnails? If so, how do I do that? Please explain.
I used the functions.php file from the theme. Here is the section of code that was in the functions.php in the child theme:
http://pastie.org/9105689I realized that I probably did a dumb thing by copying the entire functions.php file from the theme and then adding that line of code, so I redid it with only that line of code, but I still get an error message.
This is how the entire second functions.php reads. Clearly that is wrong, too.
http://pastie.org/9105665I apologize if this problem is due to my utter ignorance of php. Thank you very much for helping me with it.
I was waiting for the next theme update to work on this problem (since I had already edited the en_US.po file for Neighborhood, so I would not be able to see whether the child language files were being used or not) but it remains the same. I still get the above error message if I put a functions.php file in the child theme with that code. If I remove the functions.php file, the error code goes away but language folder in the child theme is ignored.
Any other thoughts on this? Thanks.
While I’ve been awaiting a reply, I went ahead and made this edit to my child css:
li.product figcaption .shop-actions > a.button {
background: #2e2e36 !important;
}It did get rid of the problem, but can you please tell me if in the process of fixing my issue whether my edit will now break something else? Why would you suddenly add:
li.product figcaption .shop-actions > a.button {
background: none repeat scroll 0 0 rgba(0, 0, 0, 0) !important;
border: 0 none;
line-height: 22px;
text-shadow: none;
}to your update? Please explain in case I’ve caused some problems. I’m not a very strong coder.
With all due respect – I love you guys and I love your theme, but it’s getting to be a little scary to do an update lately. I wish there was a way to see if things were going to break before committing to the update.
This reply has been marked as private.Oh thank you so much. That did the trick. Wow, that was weird. I appreciate your help.
No. That is the bad one. See the shadow around the wine glass? If you expand that image, you will see the correct one. Also, if you go to the product page, you will see the correct thumbnail. Only this particular version of the image is the “old” one that I have deleted from the image library.
Oh sorry. I guess there was still a draft of the new product I created in the process of attempting to figure this out. I deleted that and I think it should work now. Can you try one more time? Thanks so much.
I don’t understand that. I’ve had other people check it and they see it. Please, can you check it again?
This reply has been marked as private.I think that must have been wrong – it crashed my site.
Thank you. Do you mean …_url(), or is that correct with _uri()? Thanks.
I already did that (see comments above) and it did not work. I was only able to see the changes after I copied my edited files into the Neighborhood directory. It did NOT work when I put the language folder in the child theme directory without editing the ones in the Neighborhood directory as well. 🙁
Sorry? Try what?
No problem.
So regarding the child theme thing, is there something more I must do beyond simply putting the language folder in the child theme directory? Maybe do something in the config.sys or something like that? I’m not very well versed in the inner workings of WordPress.
