I thought I was losing my mind. I have the same exact issues. Spent hours so far trying to figure this out. Most of my pages are now full width and I’m seeing a strange gray box after the titles. The new builder window doesn’t seem to re-size, unless I create a brand new page. Also, found some strange issues with the new icon box colors. Hopefully, this be get resolved soon. Thanks!

    A few more suggestions…
    1) Would be nice to have an animated icon when loading pages similar to the Ellison theme. On slow page loads, it would provide a good UX experience instead of the blank white screen.
    2) I’m still voting for more gutter space in between columns and definitely a smaller side bar.
    3) Would be great to see more options for the Fancy Header in terms of the parallax, maybe something like the Nectar slider from Salient theme.
    4) How about showing an alternative logo like an icon for the sticky header.
    5) Would be nice to see the naked header option built into the theme, so it can be selected for certain pages, etc.
    6) Would also be nice to include Fancy text element, which would allow for a custom text style (font, size, etc.)
    Thanks!

Hi Melanie. My comments were not meant to be negative. All I was trying to convey is that when visual composer is customized in a different and more effective manner, the results can be outstanding. I’m sure you can’t argue with the success of the Salient theme with 10,400 plus sales. The numbers don’t lie. And the reviews for the latest update using visual composer have been spectacular. I just feel the swift framework would be much better off with a newer and customized version of composer like Salient. As ML noted above, I just don’t see how the current builder is helping with the design process when it just generates the codes and columns. I have had the pleasure of using Salient and I can certainly see why it’s getting so many sales and positive reviews. But that being said, Dante is completely awesome and I think it would be even better, more 5 stars and sales, if it had a better page builder. I love the Dante design and continue to look forward to each update. Thanks!

Hi Ed. Yes, the duplicates are of one another. For example, if I create a Section with a Text element of “test123”. That same text is duplicated outside of the section. On the front end, you see both the accordion section closed and the duplicated text below. Hope this helps.

Here is a great example of doing it right… Salient just added a customized version of Visual Composer. I was able to take it for a test drive it’s simply amazing. I was building pages in minutes, not hours. Definitely allows for great creativity and you don’t have to agonize over the code. Truly awesome!

Hello. I’m not sure if this is the correct answer, but adding !important after the bottom padding seems to work. For example, padding-bottom: 40px !important; Hope this helps.

Thanks Ed. Allowing for a bigger window or maybe a re-sizable one would be a huge improvement. My workflow has come to a very slow crawl between using the builder itself and the extremely small element window. I’m saying this based on my experience using the builders from Enfold (which is super fast and delightful to use) and Jupiter (customized version of Visual Composer).

I would feel even better if you could continue researching other builder alternatives. I’m not saying visual composer is the best one out there, but I do find the true drag and drop much easier to use. I would also opt for a more friendly interface for short-codes instead of just generating the code. With the Enfold and Jupiter theme, selecting an element simply brings up a window showing the settings instead of just showing the generated short code. Of course, you also have the option to view the code also. I just find myself being way more creative and more efficient with other page builders that I have used. Just my opinion, but improving/replacing the builder would make your framework perfect. Regards!

    1) Would love to see a stylized version of the smooth nice scroll like Salient theme.
    2) How about including a slider like Flex Slider with thumbnails under the main image. This is must have for showcasing products without using woocommerce. I think Enfold theme has a great example of this.
    3) Maybe a side menu option for desktop screen like Ellison theme.
    4) Would be awesome if Dante had similar parallax section for images and videos in header like Salient.
    5) Perhaps a logo animation option like Ellison theme, which is a nice touch. Or maybe have the sticky bar with optional logo symbol instead of full logo name.
    6) Please continue to research page builder options. Would really love to see a true drag and drop visual builder. That will definitely bring you to a solid 5 stars. It worked great for Enfold theme.

Thanks Ed. I would be happy to circle back around to this thread and give you my comments.

At the moment, I do have a question. I’m using a 27″ monitor and when I choose an element to edit, like Parallax, the text box area is so small. I waste so much time trying to scroll up and down and I seem to make so many mistakes because I just can’t see the entire area. Is there anyway to make this pop-up window larger? Thanks!

Hi Kyle. My mistake. It looks like you must choose a background image for the Fancy Title and not just the Alt option. If I choose an image, it doesn’t grab the Featured image. Hopefully this makes sense the way it’s working. Although, it would be nice to just use Alt background color instead of an image. Maybe this option can be added. Thanks!

Hi Kyle. My current production site is private at the moment.

But I just re-tested this using my local Dante demo and sure enough, if you simply set a Featured Image in the Portfolio and enable the Fancy Title, it uses the Featured image as the background image for the Fancy Title background.

Can you please let me know what type of work around that I can use? It should be fairly easy to duplicate the issue. Thanks!

I thought I read something on ThemeForest about an Ajax preview for the Portfolio items. That would be an awesome addition, but hope that it’s flexible enough to where we can choose which items for preview (images, article excerpt, etc.) In the Enfold theme, you can actually use their page builder to layout the Ajax preview area.

I’m currently using a 3rd party plugin for the Portfolio page because I have to have the Load More option for our 30+ items. The portfolio sorting and loading is one area that I really hope will be greatly improved. Maybe the Aux panel from the Blog page could be used for more options. Most themes don’t get this right, since all items need to be retrieved in memory in order for the sorting and load more to work properly. But the load more and sorting is very critical.
