Thanks! I appreciate it. I’d be curious to know if anyone else has this issue. Incidentally, the wish list was not in use when this test was run. So that result is when the wish list is idle! I can’t imagine how bad it is when it’s being used.

September 26, 2014 at 3:06 pm in reply to: Can I delete these plugins? What plugins needed for theme to work? #114957Thank you so much. That is helpful. I still have two questions.
1) So can I delete “Breadcrumb NavXT 5.0 Migration Compatibility Layer” if “Breadcrumb NavXT” is installed? You only mention “Breadcrumb NavXT”. Right now they are both installed but it says DO NOT ACTIVATE on “Breadcrumb NavXT 5.0 Migration Compatibility Layer”. Is that no longer needed? It initially was part of the theme installation (recommended I guess).
2) I’m still not understanding this one “Previous and Next Post in Same Taxonomy”. I currently have it disabled (not sure why) and the description says, “Extends the prev/next links to let you limit to same taxonomy. Used for testing WP Core patch, and can be disabled if patch is committed to core.” Are you saying I need to keep it? Should I enable it? Is the “patch committed to core”, whatever that means?
Thank you again.
Thank you very much! I’ll try W3 Total Cache again. Maybe I’ll search around for a tutorial. And I’ll definitely check out MAX CDN. 🙂
Thank you, Mohammed.
1. Do you have a list of suggested settings for W3 Total Cache? I tried installing it once before but it screwed up my site so I got rid of it. I know for sure that is because I don’t understand the settings. I’d love help with that, please.
2. What CDN do you recommend? I have looked into that as well and couldn’t figure out which one to use.
3. Are you saying that if I use W3 Total Cache, then I should stop using minify? (Just clarifying.)
Thank you!!!!
Thank you!!! That helped quite a bit. I noticed there is a newer version of it but I was afraid to update it since you said to use this version. Even so, your screenshot of your settings don’t look exactly like the interface, so I’m not sure I even did it right.
I’m still left with these problems (which are much less than before).
Should Fix:
Eliminate render-blocking JavaScript and CSS in above-the-fold content
Your page has 2 blocking script resources and 3 blocking CSS resources. This causes a delay in rendering your page.
None of the above-the-fold content on your page could be rendered without waiting for the following resources to load. Try to defer or asynchronously load blocking resources, or inline the critical portions of those resources directly in the HTML.
Remove render-blocking JavaScript:

https://sassypantsdesign.com/…s/jquery/jquery-migrate.min.js?ver=1.2.1
Optimize CSS Delivery of the following:

https://fonts.googleapis.com/…y=Quattrocento%7CQuattrocento%7CVidaloka
https://sassypantsdesign.com/…t/themes/neighborhood/css/responsive.cssDo you have a suggestion regarding these? Maybe it’s in the settings? I don’t really understand the interface much. 🙁
Hey, thanks a bunch. I am using the latest version.
I did just do what you suggested. Thank you! Unfortunately, it didn’t change anything regarding my speed score, but it has to be a good thing to do. 🙂
I have an update to this post. Still have questions. But here is more information.
My poor score remains the same but it’s a little different than before (it no longer mentions optimizing images). The very first thing mentioned is this.
I assume this has to do with the theme?

Yes! That did it. Thank you!!
September 8, 2014 at 12:25 am in reply to: EMERGENCY! My site is down after doing the Revolution slider update! #107853@Ed – as always, you are right. 🙂 🙂 🙂
It took a LOT of work (for a very non-technical WordPress newbie like me) but I was finally able to discover the culprit. I’m posting this in case someone else runs into the same issue.
Woocommerce must have changed a default setting, which must have appeared in the update I just did. The setting reads:
Un-force HTTPS when leaving the checkout
As soon as I unchecked that, everything was fine. It was originally unchecked, so I never thought about that being checked again. Geez. I’m SO sorry to waste your time, although you really helped me narrow it down. Thank you!!!!
September 7, 2014 at 9:47 pm in reply to: EMERGENCY! My site is down after doing the Revolution slider update! #107844I’m sorry to be a pest but is anyone able to help with this?
I can’t leave my site with Woocommerce disabled. If I enable it the site breaks. If I disable it, the site loads, but with lots of broken links, obviously.
Help please!
September 7, 2014 at 2:47 pm in reply to: EMERGENCY! My site is down after doing the Revolution slider update! #107798Thank you so much for checking it out!!
I was on the phone twice with my host just now, and finally found a gentleman who was helpful and walked me through figuring this out. Turns out it is a problem with Woocommerce. When I disable Woocommerce, the site comes up.
Could this have to do with the most current theme update? I just updated the theme, too, as well as Revolution Slider (which was what I thought caused the problem).
I’m not sure what to do at this point. My site is currently running without Woocommerce, which is not good!
Thank you in advance!
P.S. My host is Hostgator. As soon as my contract is up with them I am switching. I’ve had too many problems. (Not that this one is their fault, but in general.)
September 7, 2014 at 4:20 am in reply to: EMERGENCY! My site is down after doing the Revolution slider update! #107749I did contact them and they said it was from the conflict between the Revolution slider and the theme. And I must admit, it all went south the minute I updated the slider.
In addition, I can’t view any other pages in the site, so it’s not just my homepage.
Now I’m really panicking, because they say it’s the theme, and you say it’s them. Where do I turn?
I am also battling a super slow site 41 / 100. I have a few questions which I will ask in another post, but regarding the global settings of the Revolution Slider, where is the option to set JS to load in the footer? Maybe I just don’t know how to use this interface, but this is all I can find in global settings. (See attached image.)
Can you help me find what you are talking about?
Thanks!
