Hey all,
We’ve recently refreshed our Page Builder for our latest Framework (Atelier, Cardinal, Joyn) and we spent a lot of time re-working and trying to improve wherever we possibly could. We have a lot of great new features such as History and Most Used, as well as better usability and speed. We have made these changes for the better as far as we are concerned, and to allow the builder to grow in ability for being the core of your websites.
We have planned on our roadmap for the coming weeks/months:
– Design tab for assets, to add better control for padding/margin/border/colours etc.
– Responsive/Touch device support
– More speed improvementsWhat we are opening this topic for is to allow you guys to provide feedback in one place, maybe that you feel you we didn’t improve on from the previous version, or where we can move forward to improve it moving forward. We’ve already released an update to add an option to show the text block text in the editor, a much requested option after that display was taken away.
We look forward to reading your feedback and taking it into consideration.
Thanks,
– Ed & the Swift Ideas team
March 5, 2016 at 8:13 am #253707Hey Ed and the Swift team,
Thanks for giving us the opportunity to provide feedback.
For me, the new builder is great. It is easy to use, fast and does everything you need of it.
I really, really like the history feature. I think that is a major plus over using VC. It has already saved my bacon a few times, and to be honest, VC has some major downsides with page speed issues.
Ultimately, I believe, that a page builder must be fast and easy to use, but also not majorly impact page load speed. From what I can see, that is exactly the philosophy for the Swift Builder, so it is a big thumbs up from me.
Your roadmap of:
– Design tab for assets, to add better control for padding/margin/border/colours etc.
– Responsive/Touch device support
– More speed improvementsis spot on for me.
I look forward to reading other users experiences, and using future versions of it.
I would say in addition however, I didn’t know you added the option to show text in the the text block. That was a major step back for me, but I am so pleased to hear that it has returned. I only found the option after reading your above post, and I have now enabled it ๐
So, that brings me to my point of having a viewable changelog for the framework. When I click to look in the wp dashboard (view update version details) I get a blank. I know it exists somewhere, as I have seen it, but I can’t remember how I did, so it would be nice for the changelog to be more obvious.
Overall, great work, keep it coming.
Thanks
March 5, 2016 at 8:18 am #253708P.S I would like to add one thing about the text element…
It would be nice if you could add text colour in the text element. When you add white text for a dark row, you can’t see the text in the element without opening it. That would be a really useful addition for me
March 5, 2016 at 9:11 am #253709Thanks for the feedback @asperty – we appreciate it.
The changelog is visible simply by clicking the “Swift Framework” menu item in the WordPress admin. We’ll see if we can get it added to that changelog link too in future updates.
Have also considered something for the text colour, will have a think about the best way to go about doing this.

March 9, 2016 at 1:00 pm #254375Hi there,
Great work – but still some minor bucks.
I can’t scroll the content in the select new element overlay window. I am on a retina MAC pro 15′ – Safari/Firefox/Chrome.
When I try to drag down the scroller, the whole window is being dragged down. When I try arrows, then the content behind the overlay is scrolling.
Thanks for your great work on keeping Atelier modern, fast and up to date with new standards.

March 11, 2016 at 4:00 pm #254944Hi,
Great update!
Unfortunately I’ve found a bug:
When I add or edit text in the text block, sometimes the top area of the popup (where the save button is) disappears.
I then have to refresh my page and start over. I use Safari on MacOSX
See screenshot.Regards,

I just wish there would have been some advance notice about such a big change. I’m really used to the old builder and now many of my settings are found in new places. I also think that it’s not right to do this without updating any of your documentation. All of your theme documentation shows your old page builder in use.
March 11, 2016 at 5:41 pm #254961Hi @kblochowski
Unfortunately there isn’t a way for us to be able to have everyone be aware and prepared for the update, and largely this would be counter-productive.
We have a full documentation site now for the new page builder (this is linked to from the Swift Framework panel in your dashboard – http://pagebuilder.swiftideas.com/documentation/
Hope that helps.

March 15, 2016 at 2:10 pm #255550Hi,
The element controls are not showing up even when I hover my mouse over it. I’m using Chrome and I’ve been refreshing the page again and again, but it just won’t show up. Do you know how to fix this issue? Thanks ๐
