*Woops, first attached picture was an error. Ignore that :)*
I’d love it if there would be a built-in compare option! The YITH Compare plugin is nice, but it’s not working that well with Dante. Ideally, on a list page on the top right of a product image, ticking a box with ‘add to compare’ would be awesome 🙂
Hi Mohammad,
Thanks for your reply, unfortunately both things didn’t work.
1) That didn’t solve the problem. Still shows the left sidebar items a bit squishy. Should I change the ‘5’ in the above css to something wider or..?
2) I did have the lightbox option enabled in WooCommerce settings, but after disabling that option I didn’t see any difference.
Thanks,
Simon.Seems like it’s solved!!
Checked the sf-supersearch.php file and on line 89:
$super_search .= '<a href="#" class="super-search-go sf-button accent" data-home_url="'.get_home_url().'" data-shop_url="'.$shop_url.'"><span class="text">'.$search_btn_text.'</span></a>';
Changed it to:
$super_search .= '<a href="#" class="super-search-go sf-button accent" data-home_url="'.get_home_url().'" data-shop_url="'.$shop_url.'/shop/"><span class="text">'.$search_btn_text.'</span></a>';
Basically setting the shop page in the output url I guess. Output always seem to come out clear when using the SS filters, also on product pages in the top.
Is this something you should change in the php file by default for future theme updates or is this just a personal setting that seems to work for me in my situation? Also, if the theme gets updates, will I lose my settings in this file? Just to be sure.
Either way, thanks a lot for the patience & support 🙂
Hi Ed,
Setting a shop page in WooCommerce has to be an actual page. So I have this page called Shop (slug=shop) with nothing on it (yet) that is now set as the base shop page. I set that, along with the product permalink /product, like the settings you have.
Still, when visiting from my home page and using the super search I get redirect to the home page (with all the ?filter settings in the URL).
Something I do find odd too though, is that http://nieuwekoptelefoons.nl/shop/ leads me to all the products in my shop instead of the page with the slug ‘shop’.
I’m kind of lost here and it’s vital that the super search function works for me. Is there any chance you could look into my WordPress backend and see if you could find a solution? I can leave login details privately.
Apologies, can’t seem to edit my above post.
Also noticed that the best super search filter results are given through:
/product-categorie/koptelefoons (after my domain name). If somehow that were to be implemented in the sf-search when you hit the results button on the super search function, all would be good 🙂
Managed to find something interesting. Can’t fully get my head around it, but I feel we’re getting close. Something to do with permalinks and WooCommerce base shop page setting.
Current situation:
– I have my permalinks set as
/winkel/product-category/sample-product/
–> /winkel/%product_cat%/– In the WooCommerce settings, I haven’t set any base shop page, since the tooltip there said it can also be set at the permalinks section.
Can you tell me what you’d advise as a permalink structure? (ideally I’d have /winkel/product-categorie/productname). Furthermore, what should be set in the WooCommerce settings as a base shop page if that has to be done anyway? In the case of a WooCommerce base shop page, I don’t really have any :-/ since I use my site as a home page and visitors mainly navigatie through the mega menu section.
Thanks in advance again!
Simon.Hi Ed @swiftideas,
Yes, I have that (a couple layered nav’s as well as the one price filter). You can see that here: http://nieuwekoptelefoons.nl/winkel
Did you check if you could reproduce what I wrote above, about the Dante demo site? It seems to root back to initial page (where you apply the filters) in some cases.
Hey Mohammed,
I’ve looked at the Dante demo again and it seems that the super search there works slightly different in giving its output/query.
When filtering for something on the demo page (the shop version: http://dante.swiftideas.net/home/home-seven-shop/), e.g.:
Filter used: Help me Dante! I’m looking for new ANY in a size ANY that costs between 0 AND 1400 POUNDS. Show me all the BLACK items, from the brand OUR LEGACY.
It takes me to: http://dante.swiftideas.net/home/home-seven-shop/?filter_colour=68&filter_brand=163&min_price=0&max_price=1400&min_price=0&max_price=1400 which is as you can see back to the home-seven-shop homepage instead of a search results page.
However, when I run the default filter settings that are on that page:
Help me Dante! I’m looking for new SHIRTS in a size MEDIUM that costs between 0 AND 1400 POUNDS. Show me all the BLACK items, from the brand OUR LEGACY.
It directs me correctly to a results page: http://dante.swiftideas.net/product-category/shirts/?filter_size=85&filter_colour=68&filter_brand=163&min_price=0&max_price=1400
I think that my 1st entry had no products in the filters and therefore somehow roots me to the same page again, whereas the 2nd results show good results possibly due to products that where found in the applied filter. In the 2nd URL you can see that the URL changes to: /product-category/shirts/?filter_size=85&filter_colour=68&filter_brand=163&min_price=0&max_price=1400
Is this a bug maybe?
Hi Mohammed, thanks for your patience 🙂
We’re one step closer, as the results page now always goes correctly to the shop page, however the functionality of super search doesn’t seem to work 100% if I play with the filters. You can try and test the filter (@ http://www.nieuwekoptelefoons.nl, the super search is located in the right corner at ‘Hulp nodig?’) and you can see that if you filter for beats by dr dre (where it says philips now by default) and leave the other filters on (like on-ear), it still shows philips brand products. It should return a ‘no results’ page as there’s not a product yet that is brand=beats by dr dre and draagwijze=on-ear.
And if you choose ‘elke’ at all the fields (means: any), the results are fine but the results page doesn’t show the left sidebar anymore.
Lastly, when you’re on a search results page (e.g.: http://nieuwekoptelefoons.nl/?page_id=7?filter_merk=165&filter_draagwijze=166&filter_kleur=164&min_price=0&max_price=1400&min_price=0&max_price=1400) and you want to re-use the super search by clicking on the magnifying glass, and make a filtered choice, results are not working either (but I suppose that’s due to the above reasons).
Heya, copied the exact code as edited by you onto the php file. Adding the /winkel/ in there showed no improvements. When on a product page, using the super search leads me back to the exact same page. The get results button from the super search function plants its
?filter_merk=165&filter_draagwijze=166&filter_kleur=164&min_price=0&max_price=1400
still behind the current url.
Is there a way to always put its output behind: http://nieuwekoptelefoons.nl/winkel/
Tried the full url in the php code but that didn’t work out either 🙁Awesomepants!
Thanks a lot 🙂Awesome, Kyle, thank you for that!
The background color is perfect now, only thing I’d like it to have the text white, and when hovering over the button, the button goes black (and the text is still white). Actually, exactly like the “Bekijk video” button on my product page, as linked earlier.
Sorry for being such a pain, hope it’s not too difficult! 🙂This reply has been marked as private.Heya Kyle, a URL to a product page of mine is:
