Hi, thanks for your help, but finally I had to uninstall the WPML plugin in my web. It became very unstable, specially the shop. Now it works fine but in one single language 🙁 I will wait for a more stable version of the plugin and hope also Cardinal gets WPML certified soon.
Hi, thanks for your support.
I’m sorry to say that this issue has led to another problem, now with portfolio categories (this was working correctly some days ago). When I edit a page in English I only see Spanish (default language) portfolio categories, although categories are correctly translated. This implies now item is shown in the EN portfolio page (like this http://www.solegimenez.com/en/discography/presuntos-implicados_en/).
There seem to be some incompatibilities between WPML and your theme… It’s a pity. I like Cardinal very much.
Tbanks in advance for your help.
This reply has been marked as private.OK. I changed them to default and them back to custom and it works now fine.
Thank you for your support!
Thanks, Kyle.
– Menu issue just worked fine.
– Images issue: I don’t understand why it is not possible to use the standard gallery mode with normal images (the most usual mode I suppose). I don’t like masonry mode for portfolio showcases because yoy just don’t control the order of the items. That’s exactly what’s happening if I use it in other sister porfolio-pages like /discografia/colaboraciones/.
Would need a solution with the standard gallery mode.
Forgot:
– I updated to Cardinal 1.80 before writing the above answer.
– Now the main menu in http://www.xxxxx.com/inicio is not shown correctly. The last option “Tienda” is dropped to a next line. Could you also have a look? Thanks. Thanks, Kyle.
Regarding issue 1: yours answer was perfect. Solved. Thank you.
Regarding issue 2: still waiting for your solution. I have chosen “standard gallery” and “ratio 1/1”, but the images are cropped. Annoying is that the English version of this page (with apparently the same settings show not cropped images.
Thanks for your help.
P.S: Back-end is now working correctly at my end.
September 13, 2014 at 7:47 pm in reply to: WPML | When default langage is set to english, french shop ok, english is off #110364Same problem here (http://support.swiftideas.net/forums/topic/wpml-string-translation-plugin-breaks-theme-options-and-menu-settings-page/). I think problem exists when WPML is used together with Woocommerce multilingual plugin. If together used, rescanning strings or even trying to change menus or theme settings brings a blank page. Anyway in my website WPML is not correctly scanning the theme strings. WPML say Cardinal is not “certified” by them. Not sure who’s responsible of solving this incidence… but I also would like to know what’s the solution.
September 11, 2014 at 3:31 pm in reply to: WPML string translation plugin breaks theme options and menu settings page #109664OK, I’ll try if the strings translation via WPML gives further errors. In which context should the a.m. strings be found? theme swiftframework?
September 11, 2014 at 3:13 pm in reply to: WPML string translation plugin breaks theme options and menu settings page #109649Thanks, Rui. I’ll post them and will come back if there is a solution or another rebound of the incidence.
Nevertheless, I’m still not able to translate “Share this” or “Show all” strings. They are not found by the WPML plugin in the strings scanning…
September 11, 2014 at 2:54 pm in reply to: WPML string translation plugin breaks theme options and menu settings page #109636OK. It seems that the error occurs only when the Woocommerce multilingual plugin is activated. In any other case, the string scanning does not give an error.
September 11, 2014 at 7:42 am in reply to: WPML string translation plugin breaks theme options and menu settings page #109432I did point 1, and this is the error: PHP Fatal error: “Call to a member function get() on a non-object in /usr/home/xxwebsitexx.com/web/wp-includes/query.php on line 28”
Regarding 2., I do have the po file with the missing strings.
Actually I think both problems (1 and 2) are the same. The WPML plugin just cannot register many of the themes strings.

E.g. the “share this” string and many others do not appear in the string translation pannel.
Thank you very much, Antonio! It is the default theme font.
