Try the FTP way.

Backup the theme and also the theme options. (In case anything happen you can revert it back) Then try updating the theme using FTP. (unzip the theme and rename it to another name and upload in wp-contents/themes folder and activate it, you can import the theme options from the backup)

In custom style I remove that the style I gave earlier. and now the posts display fully. The featured image isn’t doubling see you have two images (one in featured image and another inside the post editor)
