I keep getting a timeout when I try to connect. Will check if my colleague David can connect to the server?

February 13, 2017 at 4:02 pm #313570Yes, I can connect – I cannot edit any files though.
You have a 500 internal server error when trying to login via /wp-admin/:
Please open your wp-config.php file and add this:
define('WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '256M');
February 13, 2017 at 4:09 pm #313571Ok David
Added that code.

February 13, 2017 at 4:13 pm #313573Hi,
Can you ask your host why we cannot make edits via FTP with those supplied details?
Will need to you enable error reporting to locate where the error is as the last tweak yields no results. Please set debug to true:
define('WP_DEBUG', true);
February 13, 2017 at 4:30 pm #313576Hi again
Changed the debug to true.
You should be able to change files via the cpanel and the file manager. I am reluctant ask them they have been part of issue it’s a franchised hosting they don’t know what they are doing. We intend to move hosting when this is resolved.

using the same login as the ftp
JohnFebruary 14, 2017 at 2:50 pm #313724Hi John,
I am working on this now.
February 14, 2017 at 3:34 pm #313731Hi John,
What is the difference between the database tables?
totalmast_sandbox_
totalmast_
One seems to work (sandbox), totalmast_ seems to cause an error.
This is really in the realms of your hosting provider as the theme itself is not causing the error.
Let me know, happy to help where I can.
February 14, 2017 at 4:16 pm #313741Hi David
I can only see one database in phpmyadmin totalmast within that there are table references to totalmast_sandbox.
How are you seeing two?
Not sure were the sandbox is come from.
I am still unable to login to admin and the home page is nearly there, contact from missing and there is a background image that shouldn’t be there. Not checked every page.
What WP and theme are now running.
John
February 14, 2017 at 5:11 pm #313763Hi John,
The parent theme is now the latest 3.3.32. The latest WP is not something I can check as I cannot login via /wp-admin/ either.
What is the relationship between you and the host, are they able to offer any support? Are they the ones that created this child theme/site setup. The child theme is coded to a fairly poor standard also.

As long as you don’t overwrite the database tables you will be fine. Obviously do a fullback up.
From what I have seen, everything is a bit of a mess so I’d advise you to proceed cautiously. Even if the Dante theme is removed or Twenty16 is enabled the backend would not be accessible.
Let us know what path you take, we will help you out as much as we can and with a matter of priority for responses.
February 14, 2017 at 6:27 pm #313787Hi David
I am not sure what path to take I was hoping you would have the answer.

February 14, 2017 at 7:06 pm #313794I’ll check with my colleague Rui to see how else we can try to gain access to the /wp-admin/.
Thanks.

Rui is also taking a look to cast a set of fresh eyes over the wp-admin issue.
Thanks.
