    Thank you, Ed!

    No, not on mobile: it’s a 64-bit Core i-7 Win 7 SP-1; using IE 11.

Left to guess, maybe it’s a cross-site reference issue, common with third-party reflectors. No worries. I see what you’re seeing in the CSS.

“…a number of improvements to the way we handle full width assets in Dante.” Under the circumstances, I’d say “improvements” is subjective. When my clients and other site visitors experience an unappealing display change, I doubt they consider the site’s appearance improved.

The term “improvement” doesn’t come to mind when I read a vendor’s directive, “You will need to adjust that.” Judging from the forum’s content regarding the recent update, several of your customers share my perspective.

    Somewhat concerned,

    Matthew

Thanks for the prompt reply, Ed!

That’s odd. The link takes me to a page titled “Dropbox”, complete with Dropbox favicon, Dropbox corporate branding, and a button titled “Download” – for the Dropbox app. The entire page is otherwise blank, except for the words “Sign in” and a tiny blue copyright flag. When I click “Sign in”, it tales me to https://www.dropbox.com/login. Are you sure it’s not a Dropbox link?

Really: it doesn’t matter. I just want our premium theme to work and display the way it did Friday morning, before we started updating and patching the Dante theme. The site used to look decent. Maybe I can roll it back somehow, without breaking a bunch of other stuff.

    Still fixing stuff,

    Matthew

    Hi Ed,

Thank you for your ideas. I don’t plan to download Dropbox, so I can’t see your link. There probably is a better way to share an image, I mean: since we’re using HTML and all.

Anyway, what you mentioned is true: I assign several property values in our Custom CSS file. However, this file has not been edited since April 24th, so I am sure these custom padding declarations are not the root cause of the new page width (and Parallax element) behavior.

Maybe, based on the number of issues reported here, here, and here, there likely is another, bigger issue affecting our pages’ display.

    Please advise,

    Matthew

    Dante Devs,

It’s probably a good idea to move proactively on this and generate an email to your customers who may support companies using Dante, but who are not working this weekend. I can tell you: I prefer to learn that YOU identified the issue and are working to correct it, rather than having CEOs texting me in full freak-out mode. We enjoy firefighting with our stakeholders as little as you do. Please help us help our clients!

    Love & Latency,

    Matthew ♥ 🙂

IMPORTANT NOTE: The error was a 403 (Forbidden); not a 503. Please make note of my typo in the solution reply, above! D:

Mohammad, if you could please check the tags on this thread, I also may have tagged my reply with the wrong error code. I just want to be thorough and clear. 😉

    Hey Bongobong,

Yes, the problem appeared related to Swift Frameworks interaction with (…or dependency upon) the generic WordPress element TinyMCE. Specifically, I removed the WP Admin user who originally installed the theme (and therefore, the Swift Framework), because that person was no longer part of the company. As the new Admin, I inherited the website and the WordPress installation. I had no way to determine the valid license continuity from the very first, original WordPress installation through the current Dante (we’re running Dante’s Child, to be specific) install. One of those tiny keys associated with that particular Admin user no longer matched my new Admin account, so (what I believe was) a licensing check failed, and the code persistently returned a 403.

Solution? Yeah, I wasn’t excited about this, either; but it worked perfectly and immediately! I performed a domain rebuild, fresh WP 4.x install, fresh Dante (and Child) install from a virgin .zip, and I DID NOT import the database, to avoid re-introducing and old key, an old user, or an old hash somewhere that would become a problem down the road.

BAM! Just like that: problem gone, and the site immediately began responding more quickly, too. I sure hope this helps someone. I spent a good piece of 45 days on it. 😉

Same issue: hoping to review description of changes before blindly applying them. ♥

“Dante – You have version 2.75 installed. Update to 2.76.”
