    Hi guys,

    just a short note… I’m gonna activate the excerpt function and fill in the excerpt boxes at least for the last dozen posts in the blog. The problem still exists though. I just have to make the blog look reasonably decent again. I already had visitors complaining about the scanty looks of it or who thought, the blog was broken respectively. Not to mention my boss asking for a solution.

    You have the login-data, so feel free to take a look. You can also switch to full-content view again, if it helps you. Just make sure you switch it back to the excerpt after youve done your inspections. 🙂

    Best greetings,

    Hi Chris,

    you can configure whether to generally have a sidebar on posts under Theme Options > Default Meta Options. Note that enabling default sidebars makes them appear on both posts AND Pages. You can disable pages sidebars on the create-page-dialog, though.

    Hi Kyle,

    I already have subscribed. Otherwise, I wouldnt be aware of the update. 🙂

    I am well aware that the files are overwritten on update. The question was, if it is sufficient to just change the files mentioned in the changelog. I only altered the header.php to prevent google-fonts from loading on IE8 (which still causes the theme to throw errors on IE8 btw.) and some of the social icons graphics anyway. I keep record of my own changes thoroughly, so no need for a child theme here. Nevertheless, just changing a handful of files seems like a lot less of a hassle than replacing the theme folder as a whole. I am running a business site and my boss doesnt like downtimes as well as he doesnt like sentences like: ‘Sorry boss, our site looks lousy right now, because I lost all the theme settings on the last greater update’. So again… does it suffice to just change the files mentioned in the changelog?

    TiA and greetings,

    Thorsten

    Hi Valmois,

    you can replace social icons you don’t need with the xing-icon.
    Example: http://www.jjk.de/unser-team/ (Top-bar and Team-members)

    The files are located in
    http://www.yourdomain.com/wp-content/themes/flexform/images/social-icons-xxx.png

    It is good to hear though, that Xing is on the dev-to-do-list. I sort of abused the Instagram and Yelp-slots for Xing to have the appropriate functionality along with the icon. Didn’t want to mess up the original theme code. 🙂

    Thanks a lot for the link, Ed!!!

    Looked around for a while to find a cheat sheet for the ‘old’ FA-set… unfortunately to no avail.

    The links puts me back into the game with the FA-set implemented in Flexform.

    No problem… I know btw. that the implementation via custom CSS box is rather rugged, but I try to avoid messing around with the themes core code. It is certainly more elegant to implement this within the loop that creates the menu, but I guess I leave that to the pros at Swift Ideas. 🙂

    Hi there,

    I had the same problem (whether logged in or not 😉 ). I got this fixed adding some z-index CSS to the menu:

    ul.menu li:nth-child(1) {
    z-index: 2000;
    }
    ul.menu li:nth-child(2) {
    z-index: 1999;
    }
    /*.... and so forth... depending on how many menu items you have*/

    Cheers ,

    Update:

    We have now a developer-install of our website on a subdomain.
    I updated this installation to 1.5.2 and had no problems so far.

    Revolution sliders are all up-and-running just like before. I noticed though, that in the WP-edit-panel on the left side the tab ‘Sliders’ which gives access to a Woosliders setup (v. 1.0.8) is now missing. Which I dont really care for, as I dont use them. But maybe this was meant in the patch notes…

    Navbar searchbox issue is also fixed (great!).

    I’ll backup the Live-website and update to 1.5.2. and gonna check the behaviour on IE8 at home this evening, where I have a machine running WinXP and IE8 available.

    Cheers,
    thosch

    Hi Laranz,

    sounds nice…. for now I have installed Browser Blocker PlugIn to intercept IE8 and lower. Have to recode the PlugIn though, as it shows a rather crappy splash page. Nowhere near the nice Flexform style ;(

    Looking really forward to your update, guys!

    Thanks and all the best,

    I also have quite afew user feedbacks concerning this issue.
