January 26, 2016 at 10:08 am in reply to: WooCommerce's "Additional Variation Images" not working #243673Hi Everyone,
I’ve got some good news for you.
I just found a plugin that works with the latest versions of WC and NH.
Currently I have
WC Version: 2.5.1
WP Version: 4.4.1
Theme
Name: Neighborhood
Version: 3.2.3And the life saving plugin is:
WooThumbs – Awesome Product Imagery by James Kemp – 4.4.9which you can purchase at
http://codecanyon.net/item/woothumbs-awesome-product-imagery/2867927?s_phrase=&s_rank=10I’m in no way affiliated with the coder, just a very happy customer. He is super quick with support requests too.
Hi Kyle, to be honest with you, this is a very unsatisfactory answer and approach to the problem.
Of course there will be a difference between the 2015 theme and yours no doubt but the difference is HUGE on our servers.Under these circumstances telling me your test runs much faster doesn’t mean you created a lightweight template with clean and efficient coding, it means you set up a really fast server and perhaps have unrealistic expectations in terms of how fast your clients’ servers are.
A good theme should not only be pretty and functional but also light and efficient so that it loads fast on slower machines.
On a different topic about SSL you replied me exactly, “the theme is not the issue, it’s your hosting” and then it turned out it was the theme pre-loader that linked to the wrong files on an external server and there was faulty coding.
So can you please be more constructive instead of passing the ball to the hosting providers each time, help me work out a solution so that all your clients can benefit from it?
What can I start disabling and how can I do it to make the theme lighter?
What kind of caching plugins would you recommend? Here is a simple test I ran:
– With NH as my theme I ran the pingdom test from their Amsterdam server.
There is a 6.38s second wait before the page starts loading.– With 2015 as my theme I ran the same test from the same Amsterdam server.
The wait before the page starts loading is down to 628msScreenshots and full reports are attached.
Why is this happening and what can be done to speed this up?Attachments:

Can you please post instructions on how to disable it?
Thanks.
It’s gone now, thanks!
I didn’t insert any code. This is your theme in its default configuration.

January 13, 2016 at 7:31 pm in reply to: SSL green padlock not showing on frontend (plugin installed, https setting on) #240141For those users who have the same problem as I did, here’s how to solve it until the demo uploader is fixed:
1. Go to Theme Options > Background Options
2. Right click the image that’s next to Upload BG image
3. Open image in a new tab so that you can see the file name
4. Remove image
5. Upload
6. Find the image from your media library. It is there so no need to re-upload it.
7. Go to Theme Options > Asset Background Options
8. Repeat steps 2 to 6 for every single BG image there. Again, they are all loaded into your media library but not referenced.
9. Go to your Widget Settings > Footer Column 1
10. Remove the tag again referencing an image on swiftideas.com
11. Go to your Widget Settings > Footer Column 4 and remove the code that references the email subscription serviceAnd after all this your green padlock is back, althuogh Chrome will not allow the fontdeck script which is an issue I will post in a separate support thread. But the green padlock will come back. If not, “inspect page” and see what warnings come up to see what you’ve missed.
January 13, 2016 at 7:08 pm in reply to: SSL green padlock not showing on frontend (plugin installed, https setting on) #240135Hi David,
Thanks for the reply. What you wrote is indeed the problem but it’s just the tip of the iceberg. As I started digging deep into the bg image settings I see that the themes default config that came with the demo references images from your servers at each instance. All the images, including the two you listed above do actually exist in my media library under my domain but the settings still point to your servers. Some of these settings reference styles that are not yet used by me on this particular page but they would be used if I were to add more elements.
So now I have to go to every single setting page and replace bg images which starts defeating the purpose of purchasing a theme and loading demo content so that I can have a functional website speedily. Can you please update your demo uploader so that other people don’t run into the same problem? This is a online shop theme and all online shops now use SSL which means your customers should inevitably need to deal with this if they’ve done according to your recommended setup.
January 13, 2016 at 12:40 pm in reply to: SSL green padlock not showing on frontend (plugin installed, https setting on) #240034Hi Kyle,
Where do you get the idea that this is not theme related?
Here is how I know that it is theme related:
I switched my theme to Twenty Fifteen and the green padlock shows up with no issues.
Screenshot attached.
I switched back to Neighborhood and the padlock is gone.Selim
