No, the pages are fairly simple html.
Hi Rui,
Have turned off the animation and it’s still not linking properly unfortunately.
Thanks
Hi Rui,
Thanks for the suggestion Rui, I purged the cache but still have the same problem.
This reply has been marked as private. Also, I just wanted to reiterate that our developer has already added code that is supposed to add the language switcher to all menus but he has said that it’s not working with the theme somehow. If you could have a look to see why that is, then we could just edit the existing code.
But yes I just wanted to clarify that we want the language switcher to appear on every menu type (in essence so it shows up on every page, regardless of whether it’s the Analytical Services menu, Metallurgical Pilot Plants menu etc). So if you could provide us that code to go into the child theme (if you can’t figure out why the existing code isn’t working) then we can use CSS to hide the language changer except for on pages with a translation.
Thanks
Hi David,
We don’t particularly mind how we do it, a shortcode next to the menu display would work, if you would be able to help us do that.
Ideally we would like the language switcher to show up on any page (regardless of its menu) that has a spanish translation (as we don’t have translations of every page). If this is possible, help to do that would be amazing!
Failing that, just being able to add the language switcher into every menu (i.e. the menu for process innovation, metallurgical pilot plants etc) so that it’s on every page, would be the next best option.
Thanks so much.
Hi David,
Sorry we needed to get the site live and working so I ended up setting the page to be not full width so that the sidebar works as desired (where the products don’t flow underneath) and cheated the full width look by adjusting the container size. It would be nice to be able to do this more easily next time though, but I suppose there’s no longer a need to get this resolved, thanks though.
Hi Rui,
The issue isn’t that we need to translate the menu – that’s fine – it’s that we have multiple types of menus for each of the services (if you look at the home page each of those services has their own unique menus). And we want to have the flag to help you change language on every menu, but unfortunately WPML by default only lets you have the flag/language changer on one menu. We found a workaround, but it hasn’t worked and were wondering if you would be able to point us in the right direction.
This is quite urgent and any help would be greatly appreciated.
I just added
(sidebar) width: 20% float: left (content) width: 80% float: leftBut the 80% content section didn’t do anything to force it into the 80% width, it continued flowing underneath the sidebar.
Thank you for pointing me in the right direction. I’ve added those divs but it’s still not quite right. Essentially what I want is for it to behave like this page with the aside sidebar that makes sure nothing flows underneath it, but I want the page to be full width.
Hi David,
Thanks, but what exactly should I put in the archive-product.php file to make these changes?
Yes, still present and only in Chrome. When refreshing sometimes it loads properly, and then you refresh again and it’s broken again.
Something I just noticed, don’t know if it means anything, but as I was randomly clicking through the tabs the url would only change sometimes (eg. if I click about, research report, latest news, the url will only randomly change to have the anchor at the end …/#latestnews – so it will stay …/#about as I click through a bunch, and then just randomly change to one of the others).
Hi,
We had to move on from this issue for the time being, but we’re trying to work on a layout that uses tabs again and we’re coming across the same issue.
To recap, it only happens when we try to use blogs inside tabs/accordions, and it only seems to be Chrome that can’t handle it. It seems it just can’t figure out what height the secondary tabs need to be once the first tab has loaded. It’s also very temperamental – sometimes it loads perfectly but other times it doesn’t. We can reproduce it on all of our computers (8) here.
Thanks again for your help.
