Just an update…I tried the website on different computers, and browsers…and it appears that I do not have the mystery search box anymore. I have used Windows 8, Vista and XP. It first appeared when I updated the theme with latest updates on a Windows 8 computer. However, since then, it is gone…not sure why. It appears to deal with mobile devices, according to the coding.
Here is a picture to show what I mean
I have that same “unwanted” search bar as well. It appears under the logo of the site I am working on. It seems to deal with a mobile look of the site. It only shows up in Firefox and Chrome for me; however, it is not there in IE 10. Hopefully, someone can respond with a fix for this.
Okay, we are getting there. The CSS trick does work for me. However, I would love to show the prices, without having an option to place into cart. Any suggestions? I guess I could just the price in the short description?
Nice, thanks!!! I need to take some more time to learn CSS…lol
True, it does…however, I get the free label showing up. Any ideas?
Melanie,
That could work! Is there anyway, with CSS, I can make that top bar wider (vertically)? If it is possible, I can put a phone number there and it can be larger.
Thanks, Melanie. Your suggestion is probably the best bet. However, if I can’t get a phone number in that position, do you have any suggestions of any other better spot? It obviously has to be above the fold, and it needs to be noticeable.
Okay…for now, I have solved the missing ‘add to shopping bag’ mystery. Apparently, I don’t read the fine print too well. I had the ‘Catalog Mode’ turned on in the Theme Options -> WooCommerce Options. Once I turned it to off, the buttons came back. Now on to the wording…lol
I have everything listed on the product page that I want, but I still don’t have the ‘add to bag’ section. I will worry about the wording, after I get the ‘add to cart’ buttons back.
Okay…I just reread your post, Laranz…now I know what you are talking about. Give me some time, and I will report back to you. Thanks
Okay…I got it fixed, I hope. One of the items listed had the main category checked off, as well as subcategory. I just unchecked the main category, and now it looks like I want it to. Thanks.
I am going to be honest…I am not sure what you mean. I am asking about the missing ‘add to cart’ buttons, nothing about translation. Please accept my apologies if I am missing something.
I am going to set this topic aside for now. After looking at site with a bigger monitor, it seems to look okay. However, I may come back to this later. Thanks.
Yes, I did. It doesn’t matter if the theme or woocommerce automatically scales them to a specific size. For example, if I want a 100px by 200px image, they would automatically scale to 270px by 360px, causing blurriness, etc. This occurs in the catalog mode mostly. Additionally, if I have images for the single product page, there appears to be no scaling, even if I did regenerate thumbnails. If I place an image larger than 540px by 720px as per the theme’s suggestion, the image remains the larger size and it does not look good on the site.
