Perfect, thanks.
Hi Ed,
This is the number of GET requests we got for one page on our ronin.com.au site.

Hi, I was wondering if anyone had been able to look at this?
Sorry I should have added, I can see that the resource use of a lot of builds would get lost on your average big Apache server where there are many, many sites of all different CMS’s and themes if WordPress. However our server is virtual dedicated, and unlike your typical reseller client, we get all the metrics from our hosting provider.
It’s 100% comprised of (beautiful, beautiful!) Swift Ideas-themed sites. About 2/3 Uplift, 1/3 Dante. Running Litespeed, with Litespeed’s plugin. Normal mish-mash of plugins. Our server guys are saying that where a typical WordPress site may be maxing out at 10 get processes, our sites are at 30. I’ve just had to throw another $90/mth to increase RAM & CPU to help counter this.
So yeah, per my post above, will that minifying plugin help, and play nicely with Litespeed’s plugin, and what else can be done to pare back the resource usage, which is only going to get worse for us as we build and host more sites?
Hi,
I was about to post my own thread but found this one and it seemed relevant.
We have bought a lot of licences for Uplift for our clients’ websites and we love the theme, but have definitely found across all of them that the speed is not ideal. Our server company has said that the number of GET requests was considerably higher than average. We are using a litespeed cache plugin which has helped a bit.
I have had a look around and found you have recommended the Better WordPress Minify – would you recommend using this with Uplift? Also, what are the advantages/disadvantages of enabling Swift SmartScript and pre-minified scripts? And is there anything else we should be trying?
Thanks
Hi David,
I had tested everything myself after deactivating everything but Swift Framework and it still wasn’t working, but now it does seem to be working perfectly. Did you change anything?
We’re nervous about continuing to build on a potentially unstable site so were considering reimporting the database but just wanted to check if you had done anything before going ahead with this.
Thanks
Hi,
I have deactivated everything except Swift Framework now.
This reply has been marked as private. That worked a charm, thanks so much for your help.
Hi David,
I understand that you can’t write custom code for us, I just wondered if you knew of a class that activates that affects the main-container or footer that I was missing. For instance I know that the sticky header class activates after a certain point, and was wondering if there was some other class that activates that I can look at and take it from there.
Hi Ed,
I’m getting this error, don’t know if it’s related:
Uncaught ReferenceError: SPB is not defined
at HTMLDocument.<anonymous> ((index):1293)
at i (jquery.js?ver=1.12.4:2)
at Object.fireWith [as resolveWith] (jquery.js?ver=1.12.4:2)
at Function.ready (jquery.js?ver=1.12.4:2)
at HTMLDocument.K (jquery.js?ver=1.12.4:2)However the error I meant is just that the svg icons still don’t animate on load, and it stops the drop down menu from working. I have cleared the website’s cache as well as multiple browsers cache and it’s still looking the same.
Thanks Ed, appreciate it. I’m still getting the same error though (they don’t automatically animate and the menu stops working).
Wonderful, thanks so much.
