I figured it out.
Do the following: Theme options -> Header options -> Enable Head Overlay -> OFF
In addition to my previous post:
If I hover above the sort function and click in the white space above it then the sorting options will show up.
So I found a way to change the picture of the image. But the bottom bit is still messed up. It looks nothing like the demo.

I tried changing the CSS and then reinstalled the ENTIRE WORDPRESS on my cpanel new and it still doesn’t work.
quite honestly at this point with no help I want a refund so I can buy another theme.
