Hi Kyle,
Any updates on this issue?
Thanks,
JohanThanks for this Kyle. Will be using hero titles instead now, because my “issue” with them is fixed.
Thanks again for the support Ed. Closed the thread now š
Hi Rui & Kyle,
I am back and tried the code above. The contact one does replace the icon. The search one doesn’t yet. Tried to solve it by replacing
<i class="sf-icon-search"></i>
with<i class="fa-search"></i>
, but no result yet …In addition: these buttons have a transition behind it. So the transition and the resulting icon would have to be changed as well …
Thanks,
JohanHi David,
And will it be included (or maybe better to say excluded) in a next update? Just got back from a trip and wanted to check, before I do the workaround effort.
Thanks,
JohanThanks Rui! Can’t try it right away because I am away but will try that code early next week.
Hi David,
Yes, please pass it on. It would of course be best to have a permanent solution.
As a temporary solution I think it would be best to create a 1px transparent image and load that in that area to trick things. That way I will avoid that the featured images gets loaded. I have lot’s of old posts with featured images that are fairly large, so that would be a pitty.
It will not be fun to go through all posts, so hopefully it gets included in a update soon š
Thanks so far David!
Hi Rui,
This is different. I get this when loading from a different domain that I am integrating, which doesn’t live on the same server: http://testpeijnenburg.photoshelter.com/. I managed to get everything working. Just this part doesn’t š
Thanks,
JohanThanks for looking into it David!
I guess it would not be a badĀ change for the theme either if you would allow no image,Ā to allow people use the same styled header across pages with the option to include a background image only if needed.
Thanks David!
Hi David,
Sorry, turned the standard header on again … but I think it is not an actual “issue” …Ā just a matter of different expectations!
I did not expect that the hero header would always use a background image, even if no background image is selected. IĀ would likeĀ toĀ use the hero headerĀ simply because it is more fancy even without background image, it has a subtitle and it resizes on iPhone (see our other thread).
So, how can I stop the featured image being used as a background by default? All my posts have a featured image.Ā I guess setting background image to none in css would do the trick right? Or will it still load the image in the back?
Falling back to the standard page title is not really an option, because if it not resizing on mobile …
Thanks, Johan
Hi David,
When you go to theĀ home page at http://nio.photography and resize the screen (or go to iPhone) you will see that the font nicely resizes and adjusts to the screen width.
When you go to this page:Ā http://nio.photography/fall-colours-and-fresh-snow-at-lake-sils/ (just a post) you will see it doesn’t.
What I found is that when you use a hero Page Title Style, the resizing works. When using the standardĀ Page Title Style it doesn’t.
As far as I know I did not include any custom css that overrules resizing mechanisms.
Cheers,
Johan
