I have made the changes as described in this topic please take a look at the screenshots.
I then clear the cache in WP Super Cache under contents. I click on both buttons: Clear expired and Delete cache.
Then I open my browser and click on ctrl + f5.
I still can’t see the category description. I hope you can help me?
Best regards

Thank you for the support.
I know it’s risky to update the main theme files category.php and archive.php, but I can’t figure out why it’s not working after the update.
I haven’t tried with a child theme before, so therefore I added the changes as described by Mohammad and Rui.
Best regards
MortenSeptember 15, 2015 at 7:29 am in reply to: Add category description on category/archive pages #213009I deleted the cache files generated from WP Super Cache and reload the page http://www.altombasketball.dk/basketball-bolde/ with ctrl + F5 to refresh the cache in the browser. It doesn’t seem to work.
I then deactivated the WP Super Cache plugin, but stil no category description before my blog posts.
Best regards
MortenSeptember 14, 2015 at 1:38 pm in reply to: Add category description on category/archive pages #212723Hello again,
I installed the newest version of Dante, but now I can’t see the category/archive page description before my posts. One example is http://www.altombasketball.dk/basketball-bolde/ (take a look at the attached screendump).
I have made the changes to category.php and archive.php as you recommended.
What could be wrong?
Best regards

MortenHi,
No, I want the description to show up on all platforms.
The problem is that the the category description is visible in two places on the mobile device (e.g. iPhone). The text is visible on the page above the posts, which is good. The second place the category description is visible is, when I click on the menu icon in the upper right corner. The category description appear right after the link “Basketball sko”. I don’t want the text to be here.
Please see attached screenshot from my iPhone.
You wrote earlier it was related to the cache, but I have deleted the cache and deactivated the plugin. The category description is still found in the mobile menu.
If the best solution is to hide the category description from mobile devices, then the answer to your question is “yes”.
Best regards

Thank you for the support. Now I can see the category text on both pc and mobile. Just waiting for the text to disappear in the mobile menu 🙂
Best regards
MortenThank you.
Just to understand it. I have to make the change in both archive.php and category.php?
What about the issue on tablet and mobile? Maybe it’s a cache problem, but I can still see the category text in the mobile menu on iPhone. See the attachement I posted the 24th of April.
Best regards
MortenHi Mohammad,

You must be logged in to view attached files.Hi Mohammad,
I have tried the solution, but I think it’s not working. Maybe I’m missing something? The blog category description for “Basketball sko” doesn’t appear above the blog post.
Please see attached screenshots.
