So, this is a bit embarrassing…what was the custom code you put in to fix the maintenance page. I’m not saying I got reckless with the demo content…but I definitely ignored caution and lost the custom code in the process.

    Thanks!

I had my web developer deal with it, but he sent me this message:

“The theme uses the “ReduxFramework” library. This library has a known bug in it. This bug is extremely rare, and the logs simply didn’t report it because of that. The developer of ReduxFramework says it’s a known issue but hasn’t had a chance to fix it.

We could contact the maker of your theme and see if they are aware of this bug, and perhaps they could change to an older ReduxFramework. But the recommendation is to simply try to activate the theme and see if it works in that context. Maybe it will just work, or work with an adjustment or two”

We activated it, and it’s working now, but he recommended I don’t install the demo content, so building the site on my end is a little slow moving.

Now, the problem I’m running into is my maintenance page. I selected “blank – no header | no footer” and yet, both show up, making it look a bit wonky. Any ideas on getting rid of at least the header so it’s just a regular ol’ holding page? And I selected “holding page” but that didn’t work either.

I had a friend of mine look at it and he found the error in something called “root” or whatever. It’s a plugin that allows you to run multiple WordPress sites with one account.

He took care of it and the slider works now.

I disabled the plugin, and the slider still isn’t working. I have version 4.6.0, the most recent is 4.6.5. I can’t even click the “manual update” button.

I removed all of the photo files (since they were just testers anyway), then re-uploaded two of them under different names.

I haven’t touched the woo-commerce plugin yet, so I don’t have the slightest idea why there would be an error.

So, then, what do I do about those errors? Where did they come from? I deactivated the woocommerce plug-in, but to give you an idea of how little I know about anything, imagine you hide a piece of candy in your hand, then present both hands to a toddler. However, when the toddler opens both hands, there’s no candy. Instead of reasoning “Oh man, he must have hidden it,” the toddler believes you’re magic. Like, REAL magic.

    I am that toddler.
