My issue was caused by something totally different. Here’s what I ended up doing to fix it.
1. My host automatically has “Mod Security” installed and enabled on new shared accounts. I turned it off.
2. I followed the instructions on this page – http://docs.woothemes.com/document/jquery-cookie-fails-to-load/
Doing those 2 things fixed it for me.
Rob, I had horrible performance issues using this theme on a site hosted with MediaTemple (shared). I moved it to Inmotion (shared) and performance is much better. I’m not sure exactly why, but I’m assuming it just has to do with the difference in server configurations.
Not sure if this is an option for you, but I had my site hosted on MediaTemple and the performance was very bad like you mentioned. I moved it to Inmotion and it runs great now. I’m thinking Inmotion’s servers (shared) are just configured in a way that allows this theme to run better.

Hey Melanie, thanks again for the response. I moved site from MediaTemple to InMotion and the performance issues disappeared!

Thanks for the response. I’m happy to tell you that I switched hosts (from MediaTemple to InMotion) and the site performance is MUCH better! I don’t know if InMotion is that much better or if the servers are just better configured for this theme. Either way, I’m happy with the theme now.
