Where are you adding the custom CSS?
I’m not seeing any problems on the latest version of Chrome, Firefox or Safari for Mac (OS 10.7.5).
That’s the problem – I see no area in the editor for Description or Excerpt and changing the text in the editor does not change the text shown on the front-end.
The client *does* recall there being an area for excerpt in the editor previously, which is why I’m wondering where it went after the update. For instance – if you look at the Team page and the text for Kenneth Mabbs, then click on the ‘Read More’, you’ll see the first sentence on the full bio is “This is a test of the Team excerpt function. It should pull this info in automagically. If it isn’t, then something is going wrong somewhere…” – that text is not shown in the excerpt on the Team page.
What am I missing here?
Also, when viewing your site in Chrome and you’re seeing the problem, have you tried using the Chrome Developer tools ‘Inspect Element’ option to see if you can determine which element is causing the problem? I’m guessing it’s the ‘.recent-post figure’ property, as it’s the one rendering the yellow background color, but why it would be rendering it like that on your machine and not on mine is a mystery (other than the cache, as I mentioned).
I’m on the same version of Chrome and Mac OS (10.7.5) and I’m not seeing the problem (see screenshot).
Have you tried clearing your cache?
I just tested in FF for Mac (latest version) and IE9 on Windows and I’m not seeing the problem. Is it possible that it’s a local issue, such as if the browsers displaying it large have some kind of magnification enabled?
Not happening in the latest version of Chrome for Mac, if that helps…
That was it, thanks!
Can we get a link to the site to see exactly what you mean? Or post a screenshot?
You have to make them exactly the right dimensions for the element. I believe they’re 270px square (at least on the site I’m working on…). so your images need to be square.
You may also be able to edit them using the Post Thumbnail Editor plugin:
This is simple – in the Portfolio item editor, look in the ‘Portfolio Meta’ area for ‘Thumbnail Link Options’. In the dropdown there choose ‘Link to URL’ and put the URL you want it to link to in the field.
Thanks so much!
Nevermind – I found the problem. I previously had set up the site with a new database due to other corruption and, after reimporting my portfolio items, not all the settings for them had been imported. Going back to the Portfolio page and reenabling the custom overlay shape fixed it.
Thanks!
Do you have a link to the site we could look at?
Do you want it removed only in responsive mode or all the time?
