I just tried to create a new support ticket but it was giving me a message that i need to purchase additional support license. Not sure if that is a mixup or if, in fact, i have to purchase, please let me know. In the meantime (and i hope this is not related), we have had some customers inform us that they are having trouble accessing our site earlier today. They were sending us notes that they are receiving 15005 errors and -200 errors. We contacted WPEngine (the host we recently transferred our site to – from mediatemple).
WPEngine support sent us the following notifications:
——————————————————————————
After looking at your error logs, I’ve found this error being persistent today:

This fatal error in your theme could cause issues to your customers trying to view your site. I would suggest addressing this fatal error ASAP to insure that your site is pulling up fine :).
——————————————————————————I realize you are going to tell me to update to the latest theme, but when we do that – the site gets all out of whack and we are in process of creating new site using Atelier theme, so don’t really want to have to tweak all the pages and get an updated Neighborhood to work. Hoping to avoid that if at all possible.
Any insight into this would be great.
Thanks.
FrankThanks for the feedback. I am working on a completely new site http://thktgraphics.wpengine.com/ – which is a domain that we purchased for temporary/testing.
WP Engine told me that the staging site would not be able to have the plugins work – until i switch to live site. I will re-connect with them to make sure there is not a way we can get them to work on staging site.GRAVITY FORM
The particular URL that i am working on is http://thktgraphics.wpengine.com/start-your-order/kraft-100-recycled-business-cards/I tried your custom css but it gave me an alert (see screen shot). I sent an email to Gravity Forms support – they gave me the following custom css:
.gform_wrapper .top_label .gfield_label {
margin-bottom: 0;
}
.gform_wrapper li.gfield select {
margin-top: 0;
}This did tighten up the spacing on the dropdowns but there is still a lot of space i would like to tighten up between the description and the product title. If you look at our home page we like that the word “Kraft” is showing up on thumbnail, but we would like to remove it from the order page. Also attached is screen shot showing the field where we enter ‘kraft’ it is part of Gravity Forms Product Add-ons plugin. Third attach shows our home page where you can see the field “Kraft” showing up on white box – where price usually goes. We would like to keep this on home page but remove on order page. Hope that makes sense, let us know if any of this is possible.
Thank you very much –
Frank

Will set this topic as resolved and if we have any further questions – we will contact you again.
Have a great weekend.Last follow up question on this (i realize this is out of scope of your support).
The only items necessary for us to retain are order history (reports) and customer data/user info (passwords, emails etc. so they can still login to our new site) – if we completely lose all the posts, order pages, plugins, etc, that is completely fine -just not sure if we can pull only customer order details without causing problems. Not sure if you have any experience with something like this.
Not sure how other companies change themes – i assume this is somewhat common scenario-
The rebuild will take some time – so once ready we will really need current set of customer data, but not the other stuff.
Thank you Kyle –
-Frank KiernanThanks Kyle – sorry to ask, but do you have any advice on what is the best way to do what we are looking to do.
Should we just duplicate the site, wipe out all existing Custom CSS, install new theme and work through it page by page – sounds like a nightmare in waiting.Or – do you think it is possible for us to start a new site, on a new install through our wpengine account (i.e. thikitnew.com) and when we are ready we can just export/import the customer info from our database (assuming we would get a professional developers involved to help with the import/export).
Very sorry to bother you – but just hoping for some professional advice seeing as we want to start anew with Atelier – and don’t mind double work – just want to make sure it is a clean new start with Atelier.
Thanks very much – any advice would be great!
FrankI have two follow up questions on this thread. We are ready to rework our site using Atelier (currently use Neighborhood). We have migrated to WPEngine and are planning on using the Staging site to build out the new theme. I realize this may be out of your scope of support, but hoping to get some advice.
1. Kyle suggested we start from scratch with a fresh install, which is what we prefer, but wondering how it will affect our google ranking and organic search results. I don’t have much experience with redirects. Should we start completely from scratch and keep track of our more popular page urls so we can set up redirects?2. The Staging site (http://thikit.staging.wpengine.com/) is set up as a duplicate of our live site (http://thikit.com). WP Engine support suggests we simply remove the wp-content through FTP – but wondering if you can advise on how to wipe the entire staging clean – so we can freshly install Atelier without any residual stuff from Neighborhood site. We don’t mind reuploading all images and recreating all pages – we really do actually prefer it.
Would greatly appreciate any insight you can offer on how to start fresh and clean with Atelier – given the details outlined above.
Thanks so much for the great themes.
FrankWe resolved the wp-content issue (thanks for your advice on that). We are having a larger issue now with the migration.
We have not updated woocommerce, theme & plugins for quite some time because our plan is to rebuild our site using Atelier.
However, due to rapid growth of our store – we have taken your recommendation to switch to wpengine (from mediatemple).
The migration has not gone as smoothly as we’d hoped.when export db from mediatemple & importing it to wpengine – we are getting notices that wordpress has been updated and we need to update our database. Tried to circumnavigate this but was not possible. We updated the wordpress database and site is all out of whack.
mediatemple site: https://thikit.com (this is how it should look)
wpengine’s site: http://thikit.wpengine.com (this is after we updated the database)I was already at this stage a few days ago. I even took it one step further and updated the Theme, woocommerce and all the plugins – but that brought the site to just a skewed logo and one product thumbnail (see attached screen shot).
MY QUESTION: if we go into wp-admin on the new wpengine version and update everything, is it going to be possible to get the site back to the way it is supposed to look. I looked through your forum and saw a lot of support on updates but not sure if every case is different.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated – thank you very much
-Frank KiernanWe took your advice and have set up an account with WP-Engine (currently on mediatemple)
WP-Engine is helping us migrate our site over and one of the main tasks was downloading/uploading the wp-content folder to their SFTP. We did this but when we view the site on their server, it is showing up an older version of our site. Not sure if there are assets needed beyond the wp-content and database files. Wondering/hoping you guys may know what might be causing this glitch.
Let me know- thanks very much.
FrankKyle – thanks for the info and links to freelance developers (you answered this post a while back).
I have a followup question. Hope this is not too much trouble.
We currently use Neighborhood, with quite a bit of custom css – and through trial and error our wp-admin is a bit of a mess (we taught ourselves woocommerce/wordpress by building this site out). What we would like to do is set up a new version of the site on a different host – using Atelier and rebuild the product pages from scratch in a more clean/organized way. Once it is set up the way we like it, we would then transfer the database to our new hosting package (wp-engine).
My question: is this a bad idea? Some people are telling us that we should just change the theme and make adjustments – but we fear that with all the custom css – it will be too complicated.Now that we have a better handle on how to work on your page builder – we feel it would benefit us moving forward to start anew.
If you can foresee any signficant issues with this – please let us know.Thanks so much –
Frank KiernanKyle – just a follow up question on Atelier. We currently use a 3 column layout for our product pages (widget right sidebar with helpful info for customers). We like the ‘extended product’ page in Atelier – and are wondering if the widget area extends down the full page -or- if there would be any way to have the widget sidebar stop at the bottom of our order form (Add to Cart button) so we can utilize the full width for the Description, Features and “Complete the Look” sections. Hope this makes sense, let us know if anything like this is possible.
Thank you.
-FrankThanks very much Kyle –

This reply has been marked as private.Our site host is restoring the backup and are suggesting we update all plugins including woocommerce (we are on 2.1.12). If we update to 2.2.8, do you think we will run into any issues.
We are on Neighborhood 1.81 – should we update to version 1.96?
They are also suggesting that we upgrade to most current version of wordpress – not sure if any of these updates will compromise the site. Please let me know your thoughts on this.
Thanks so much –
FrankFollowup note on this issue. Right after i posted this support request, our site went down (was just showing a blank white screen) and I could not access the wp-admin.
Our site host recommended updating wordpress and when i did that – all our plugins disappeared and were listed as deactivated (see screen shot).
This is a note from our site hose: “The issue appears to be due the theme. This is the error in the domain error log when trying to access the site:
[Wed Nov 12 13:18:31 2014] [warn] [client 172.28.10.34] mod_fcgid: stderr: PHP Fatal error: Call to a member function get_cart_url() on a non-object in /var/www/vhosts/thikit.com/httpdocs/…-content-display/sf-header.php on line 523″We did try to update a few plugins prior to the site going down (Gravity Forms, SEO Plugin and ShipStation) – not sure if it is connected to that or if it has anything to do with recent bogus orders to our site.
Our site host is in process of restoring our backup from yesterday.
Sorry to bother you guys with this – but if you have any insight with the Fatal Error listed above – please let me know.
Also – do you see any issues with our updating woocommerce and wordpress to newer versions?
Thanks,
