thanks!
no its not a cache issue.. i tested it just now in firefox.. the one you gave me a link for, i actually deleted the featured image and uploaded it again so it sized itself right.. i havent gotten to this one yet
its still huge. tested on firefox and my usual browser is safari. tried deleting cache in safari and its def not cache. i will just have to manually go back and delete the images and re up load as that seems to work.
OH! okay i just deleted the featured image, and then added it back again and its the correct size! so i think since the update i have to refresh thumbnails again? (i’m not even sure what that is or how to do it).. i only have 5 blog entries so i can manually go back in and delete the images and add them back and in theory that should solve the issue (until the next update 🙂 )
in the custom CSS part of the Swift theme options? I’ve added it there, but am still getting huge images see here:

the first image should only be 314 x 480 px but is almost the size of my entire laptop screen.
nope. cleared cache, cookies and browser history on my iPhone 6 and went back into the signature collection page (same page) and still have the footer ‘stuck’ halfway over the page.. cant see any of the products.. it isnt sticking on my old iPhone 4.. i will have to have my friend test it tonight and get back to you tomorrow about this. thanks.
hi David, it worked. the pricing is on the right side of the image and most of the text is now visible on hover! but.. just want to ask.. the code in the css area now has 3 caution symbols beside a line of code..
line one says: the universal selector (*) is known to be slow
line 2 and 5 – the use of !importantassuming this isnt a big deal?
i have tested that page on my old iPhone 4 which i have never visited my site with. i will have a friend test it tonight on his iPhone.. and i will clear all cache (once i google how 😉 ) and see if that works.. so far its working on the iPhone 4 with no issues. Thanks.
hi Guys, Kyle thanks for the info but this doesnt do what i want it to do. The reason to use the Featured image is so that there is an image showing when i cross post to Facebook and other sites.. if i remove that or hide that, when you cross post to another platform all the link pulls in is text. Also.. being able to use one image as the feature (i.e. the person wearing my item) and then inserting an image into the body of the text for people who want to read further (i.e. the actual product they are wearing) allows me to highlight two different things.
ideally what i need is to be able to change the size that the featured image shows at. if the default is say.. 800px, i need to be able to change that to say.. 400 px. I think i might need to regenerate thumbnails or something too because even though the images embedded into the text of the post content are small in reality, they too are showing larger than the actual size.
using the newest version of Swift theme. And its not on the front page its when i go to a product category page.

its kind of related to the same stuff so.. if you have a look at my test page here: http://nightmaircreations.com/test-3/
i am using all ‘image’ elements for guys, girls, signature collection, VIP and straight linking them to the respective pages. Great idea or so i thought until i get to ‘sale’ and suddenly realize i’m back in the corner! i cant directly link to a sale page as i dont have one. i cant use a ‘product’ element as it wants to a) distort the image larger b)give me a slider or just one single product to click on… when i ideally want to be able to click through to all sale products.
Which leads me to the question.. there are soooooo many ‘draft’ pages that come with the theme to show us how to do things.. there are a ton of shop pages.. one called ‘shop – categories’.. theoretically i can turn that into a shop page strictly for sale items yes? and i could save it under a new name and then use it again for shop girls and only girls products? or only guys products? And if i save it under a new name i’m not sure how to do that. its not like the ‘save as’ in a word doc that saves a new copy and keeps the old intact.. so how do i duplicate a page or save as in a commerce WP site?
thanks.
This reply has been marked as private.Hi David. for Q1 + 2 i think now with that new plugin that allows me to change the order of things, it might be simple to do what i want to do.. prior to this, if for instance a turquoise stone bead bracelet had the category of ‘guys’ and ‘girls’ it would show up on both of those sliders on the main page – which showed my product doubled up.. on mobile that takes up a lot of real estate to show same product twice.. i think now with being able to shift the order, i can put things in two different categories, and shift them around so they dont show up as the first two items under guys, and under girls.
Q3 — screen shot wont work as i need to hover the mouse to get the effect – go here: http://nightmaircreations.com/product-category/guys/ — hover the mouse on any of the products there and you will see that the price overlaps the text on hover.
Q4 okey dokey. Got the new update notice this morning. havent installed yet but will do that today.
thanks!
