December 2, 2015 at 5:11 pm in reply to: How do I setup a child theme if my developer has always edited the parent theme? #232789
Is there another way I can take advantage of the updates you release? Are there certain files that you typically change with these updates that I can compare side-by-side to my files before updating?
See the attached screenshot.I want this to change to happen on every portfolio page I have, not just this one page.

You must be logged in to view attached files.Okay. My developer is saying he doesn’t think I am using the “child” theme. So I guess that means all edits were to the parent theme. Does that make sense? And if so, does that mean I cannot upgrade without losing the custom development?
Is there a way for me to find out where these changes have been made? I’ve had several different developers work on this site. Can I compare the unaltered parent-theme files to my parent-theme files to see if there are any differences? Or is there an easier way to find out?
Is it safe to upgrade the theme if I’ve had a lot of custom development work done on the current version?
It looks like you did change something. Now none of my portfolio pages are displaying properly anymore. I had my developer remove /portfolio/ from the URL of all portfolio pages, and now I have to but /portfolio/ back in to make it work. Check out this page for example: http://theurbanavenue.com/dallas/uptown-dallas-apartments/ – try to click on a property page
Maybe you can help me with this. I am hoping to accomplish the following URL structure for my portfolio pages:
/dallas/uptown-dallas-apartments/property-name instead of portfolio/property name — I also want the breadcrumbs to follow this format. Can you help with this?
Did you login and change something? The original URL for this page was /home. I had changed it to /dallas before posting this thread. It looks like someone logged in and changed it back to the original /home. I’ve since changed it back to /dallas and it is working properly now. The /home page is showing 404 as it should. What did you guys change? I sent Rui my login info. I’m guessing he did something?
This reply has been marked as private.I’ve never had the NextGen plugin installed and still experiencing the same issue.
I’m experiencing the same issue. The search bar was working fine a few days ago and suddenly it stopped expanding to enable search when you click the magnifying glass. How do we fix this?
