This was not working because I had not selected the “contact” template in the page attributes, when editing the contact us page. Just an FYI for future questions.

I got the showcase slider to work (needed to select the home page template as “home.” So now my issue is that the menu bar still links to the pages I created and not down to those sections of the homepage. I want to use the one-page homepage feature, but want to link to additional pages for more info.

I also cannot find where to access the theme documentation.
