I have a backupbuddy backup of the site and I have lost all my custom css. I’m wondering whether there is a place it’s stored; or is it on the Database?

    Hello bongobong,

It does gets stored but it is a lengthy process to retrieve from database.

Best option is to put your custom css again and make sure you always make the backup of it in a txt file.

    Hi

You should put your custom css in a child theme to prevent losing it

    Hello bongobong,

Kyle meant to say, you should always put your css in child theme and not in parent theme.

Did you had your child theme activated?

I restored a backup and it wasn’t there. The custom css field was empty!

try to check for other backup dates. GodDaddy should have daily backups and probably you will have to pay to restore them(that costed me 15$ in hostgator once)

What is your site link? maybe we can still see the page in cache and get the css.

    It’s sinclairfox.com

    Thanks.
But I restored from a backup. I also have backup buddy doing backups but it doesn’t appear to have actually backed up the DB despite me asking it to.

There’s not much we can do about that I’m afraid. When I said put the custom css in the child theme I mean the child theme style.css file, not Theme Options

    Excluded

It seems all the custom theme stuff was excluded from the backup. Any idea why this might have been?

Do you know what exact file I’m looking for that would have the custom css that was in the theme options inside it?

    Hello bongobong,

Unfortunately, we cannot provide much help on this ahead.

Because for this, we need to dig too far for which we don’t have that much time.

Just take the suggestions in this thread and take care in future.
