    Hi,

We have installed Total Cache on one of our websites, but we’re still finding the site a little slow. Something we’ve noticed across many of our websites is a really slow load time for something to do with Facebook (first picture). There’s also a large wait for what seems like an ajax file for contact form 7 I believe (check out this site: https://tools.pingdom.com/#!/cc9Zib/http://www.macraerentals.com.au).

We were wondering if it’s taking Facebook such a long time to ping because we’re located in Australia and the site is trying to connect to America. If this were the case, is there something we can do to speed things up? eg removing something from one of the functions files etc.

We also received an ‘f’ on pingdom.com for combining external javascript and for Parallelizing downloads across hostnames (2nd picture). Would it be possible to further minify the js files to help with load time somehow?

Essentially, we were just wondering (because we host so many websites with your themes, and because they’re all located in Australia) if there is anything we could do to speed things up from now on.

    Thanks

Contact Form 7 & the Facebook code and from 3rd party plugins so that is not something we can control.

The Autoptimize plugin is great to further minify your assets: https://en-gb.wordpress.org/plugins/autoptimize/.

Have you considered server your resources from a CDN such as MaxCDN?

You could test this plugin also to defer your JS loading, however depending on how agressivly it does this with the minification it could break some site elements: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-deferred-javascripts/.

    Thanks.
