Too many items in "Main Menu" of the Demo Content?

Hi.

After many many many tries of importing your demo content – this is just a pain and buggy – I’ve done it.

The next problem is the “Main Menu” of the Demo Content. It seems, that there are too many items. It is not selected as Main Navigation out of the box. When i try to select the checkbox (under design > menu > main menu) the page is very slow. After saving the Page reloads and many menu items are gone. The last item is now “Page 4 > Sidebar Page Dual”. But furthermore, selecting as Main Navigation is not possible.

Is there any items-limit for the navigation? I’ve tried on two fresh wordpress installations on two several servers with the same result: not possible. 🙁

Please contact to host to set the following values in the PHP config:

suhosin.post.max_vars = 5000
suhosin.request.max_vars = 5000

A few more Infos …
– it is not possible to add and save more than 76 items per menu under –> backend > design > menu
– it is not possible to set an menu with more than 75 items as “Main Menu” under –> backend > design > menu

with other themes the problem also persists …

For example with twenty15 or betheme i can add up to 86 menu items and save – after all 10 more than with dante. Select as main menu is only possible with the maximum of 85 menu items – also 10 more than with dante.

whence does the limitation come from with the max of menu items? any file?
