Not getting any errors, but it seems that this issue is likely caused by the fact you are using pages on the category page rather than posts. Any reason why you’ve done this?

December 20, 2013 at 2:33 pm #38575Hi Ed,
So I created a post that I added to a category, it is true now I get a thumbnail into the category page as you can see here http://timotheeducrocq.com/category/david-hockey/
But It hasn’t solve the problem that both my menu, the ticky one and the footer aren’t appearing, they reappear on the post page or on the main one, but not on the category page, is this normal or is there something wrong?
thank you for your help,
tim
December 20, 2013 at 4:24 pm #38598See this error:
Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 55574528) (tried to allocate 3568 bytes) in /homepages/3/d465958614/htdocs/timotheeducrocq.com/wp-includes/media.php on line 1288
Send your host an email and ask them to increase your PHP memory. Or you could try this: http://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php#Increasing_memory_allocated_to_PHP

January 20, 2014 at 3:25 pm #43584Hi Ed,
I don’t understand why I have to fiddle with the code on a website that is almost empty and has low visitors. My host is 1&1 which I believe is quite known in the business so why do I get this error? Also, if i do ask for more memory do this will make my top menu reappear? I don’t know much about php coding but it seems more like an error on the way category page are displayed.
I’ve been trying to sort my website for three month now and never managed to do it the way I want, I’ve done wordpress website in the past and never got that sort of problems, all I want is a menu holding my categories with a few pages in each of them, is that possible with this theme?
Thanks for your help,
Regards,
td
January 21, 2014 at 10:26 am #43787Hi td,
It’s got nothing to do with visitors or the size of the site, WordPress and the plugins used need memory in order to provide their functionality.
1&1 are well known, but always troublesome in my experience. Try this plugin first before you ask them: http://wordpress.org/plugins/change-memory-limit/
Increasing the php memory will solve your issues.
Thanks,

January 21, 2014 at 1:03 pm #43845Hi Ed,
Thanks for your reply.
I have installed the plugin, but it says that I’m far below the allocated memory limit as you can see in the screen shot I’ve attached. Do I still need to increase it? to how much? 128mb?
Regards,
td
January 21, 2014 at 1:09 pm #43849Ok, I have increased the momory to 128 mb, I still have all the same error messages I had before, my page http://timotheeducrocq.com/category/david-hockey/ still doesn’t appear anymore neither the top menu or the footer on any categeory of my website.
Is there something else I can do?
regards,
td
January 25, 2014 at 2:30 pm #44651Hi td,
Please got to Theme Options > Blog Options and set both of the options to Yes or No.
Also looks like you don’t have a menu set?
