Speedproblem with Theme and WPML

Hi

I have the atelier theme installed, together with a bunch of plugins.

I have loading times from 10-16 seconds and according to some tests, wpml and the atelier theme are the biggest problem.

Can anyone take a look at the site and tell me what the problem might be?

You have a couple of large images on your site, you should try optimizing them to reduce file size

This is not the problem (or only a small part), if a change to standard theme, the load increases manyfold. It’s the combination of atelier theme and wpml that seems to cause the problem.

Any suggestions? similar cases?

Thanks for replying. We found the biggest slow down, it was the string translations plugin. We are working on it right now – can I come back to you if we are not getting anywhere?
