Social Links in header

Great theme, love it.

For social links, could you change the hyperlink so that for YouTube, you are able to enter a URL rather than the username. We have a Youtube redirect, so our username is different to our ‘Vanity URL’.

Also, it looks like the social links in the header (and wherever else) are hard coded with http:// – is this correct? Not had a chance to install our SSL certificate yet but if they are, it’s necessary to have these using just the //: prefix instead so no security conflicts arise with the SSL stuff. On a similar note, some linked files (HTML Shiv etc) have hardcoded http:// hyperlinks – please can these be changed so they have the same //: prefix?

In shortcodes.php you find this line

Feel free to replace http://www.youtube.com/user/&#8217;.$youtube.’ with your link.

Thanks and apologies, didn’t see that message until I bumped.

I can do this but it’s a bit of a pain when it comes to updating the theme. Could it be changed to input a URL for the next release?

Also, can you comment on http:// links with regard to SSL or should I start a new post?

I’m afraid that’s not part of my expertise.

@ovrld – I’m not sure that there are any links which need changing for https. The shiv should load fine, and the social links are external, so shouldn’t be https://

We’ll consider changing the YouTube input in the future.
