Slow website, only just installed it

Hi,

I see there are lots of issues regarding the speed of this website but I am not sure mine is the same.

I have installed it, changed a few colours, added a slider and that’s it.

It appears to load the whole page and hang for a very long time until it shows the content? By looking in chrome tools I can see the page elements have been rendered but just not shown? I was wondering whether there was some kind of delayed loading script until some js had loaded that hides it until then..

Looking at the network timeline it renders 3 main js files about 4seconds after all the rest (common,js, util.js, stats.js).

I have enabled wp cahce and minify like you have suggested but I dont think thats the issue.
Please help because I am on a tight time frame.

Oh, also to note is that I have adequate hosting (a whole VPS) and DNS shouldnt be a problem because it isnt live yet.

Ok… so this is definately a theme issue. If i swap the theme to twentyfifteen and use woocomerce it blazes by.

I just wanted to drop my two cents here… I also had this issue. Now, I am unsure whether or not FontDeck is the default setting for the theme, but if so- then this should be changed so that the default font is either a standard font or a Google font. In fact, I am not sure why FontDeck is even an option… It DESTROYS the page loading time.

Main issue is your server, 5s wait before the server starts to load the site. After that it only takes a couple of seconds. You also have an 803 kb image: http://motivatedfellas.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/rachie-1.png I’d recommend trying to reduce that file size, save as a jpeg

I definitely agree with Derek that Font Deck shouldn’t be the default option.

Font Deck isn’t loading on your site

Here is a simple test I ran:

– With NH as my theme I ran the pingdom test from their Amsterdam server.
There is a 6.38s second wait before the page starts loading.

– With 2015 as my theme I ran the same test from the same Amsterdam server.
The wait before the page starts loading is down to 628ms

Why is this happening and what can be done to speed this up?
