How do I change it from “Shopping Bag” to “Cart”?
I want to replace this on entire site.
Thanks!
January 10, 2014 at 7:20 am #41484I did it once, and it’s quite tedious.. than the manual theme update reversed all my efforts. I wish that we can choose to select “Bag” or “Cart” (icon also) in theme options. I’m building a commercial website for a PC retail business and the “Bag” is out of the question. Too bad that this is not an easy, push of the button fix, since the Neighborhood theme is very, very good.
January 10, 2014 at 8:36 am #41487I recently changed it, all the details are in this forum, take a look around there’s plenty of post’s about it.
Suggest changing to the child theme so your updates won’t be affected by theme updates.
In the meantime you can also conduct a text search in all your files that are associated with this theme and search for “shopping bag” it will show you the files, then replace and re-upload.
Goodluck
January 10, 2014 at 11:21 pm #41696Sorry i retract my statement regarding editing those files.
Download PoEdit and update the string, essentially you’re updating the english language file.
There’s a sticky at the top of this page which deals with translation, instead of translating to another language you’re translating to words in english that you need.
January 12, 2014 at 6:01 am #41861Im not seeing a PoEdit plugin. I found PoEditor but its $15 a month.
January 12, 2014 at 6:30 am #41863Download it, it’s an application outside of WordPress.

January 22, 2014 at 9:04 am #43985Thanks guys! It works GREAT!
Should I backup the “translated” file (en-US.po) before updating the theme (in the future) or this file will remain intact?January 27, 2014 at 12:39 am #44846Yes, please back up the file as it will be overwritten with updates.
Thanks,

February 20, 2014 at 1:04 am #50364Hi, Great theme. Is this really the best solution for this? How do we change the icon for the shopping bag and keep it that way even after updates?
February 24, 2014 at 11:52 am #51255Yes it’s the best solution.
As for the icon, feel free to modify it via a child theme: https://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes
March 11, 2014 at 11:00 pm #56672I am so close with this one. I’ve downloaded Poedit, made the changes like the screenshot from Montecristo, uploaded back to my theme’s language folder (both .mo and .po). However, when I refreshed, I didn’t see any changes to my site. What else am I missing from here?
Thanks in advance. Appreciate all your time.
