I’m not even sure this is a theme issue, but when I use the search box, I get similar results to the attached image, with a list of recent posts on the right and the words ‘By Mike'(me) underneath the product.

The problem is that the site is not a blog but an e-commerce site selling products. I don’t want the right-hand column showing Recent Posts, Recent Comments and Archives. Also, I want to get rid of the ‘By Mike’, as it doesn’t make sense under a product description.

    Hi,

    1) Set the search to “Product” – Theme Options => Header Options => Header Search Post Type

    2) Set the search layout and remove the sidebar: Theme Options => Archive/Category Options => Sidebar Config

    Thanks.

    That’s brilliant, David – thanks.

It works great on http://www.mrsfrisbeesallnaturals.co.uk, but on http://www.mrsfrisbeesallnaturals.com, we get the attached, whereby it says ‘Showing all x products’, but it doesn’t actually show them.

At the moment the search can be set to either ‘All’ or ‘Products’. However, I wanted something in between, that showed basically everything except posts. Is there a suitable plugin that does that?

In http://www.mrsfrisbeesallnaturals.com did you already update the theme to the latest version?

I received an email this afternoon from Envato about the theme update. I downloaded the zip file and tried to install it but got the error message: ‘Unpacking the package…

    Installing the plugin…

The package could not be installed. No valid plugins were found.

    Plugin install failed.’

The name of the file was: themeforest-11118909-atelier-creative-multipurpose-ecommerce-theme-wordpress-theme.zip

You may need to use the manually update FTP method, we document this here: http://www.swiftideas.com/knowledgebase/how-to-manually-update-your-theme/

    Thanks.
