We’re trying to build an app, but our RSS feed doesn’t have any content except for title, author, and tags. I checked and disabled all plugins to verify it wasn’t anything else, but alas is the theme.
I’ve checked a few other Dante users site and they seem to have the same problem. Is there a way around this? Can you fix?
Here’s the feed for you to look at: http://www.heartsupport.com/feed/
Notice there is nothing for the “content: endocded”
April 15, 2015 at 11:29 am #165293Hi,
Can you try to disable your plugins and test again?
Thanks-Rui
April 15, 2015 at 2:14 pm #165354Just did it again. No luck. Still the same problem and resulting from the theme

I checked Dante’s and noticed it was fine which I found strange. But then went to your “Showcase” of websites built with Dante to see if anyone else had the same problem and doesn’t know it and sure enough, this one does:
https://www.captureathletics.com/feed/
It’s only populating info from an SEO plugin, which is what mine did, but I removed it when I was seeinng if that was a plugin messing with it. So it seem to be some theme bug
April 15, 2015 at 4:04 pm #165414When I disable all the plugins I manage to see a well format feed file that I wasn’t seeing before disabling the plugins.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/te0yaqhxn3kwg56/xml_feed.png?dl=0try to disable all the plugins and activate several at each time until finding the problematic one.

April 15, 2015 at 4:12 pm #165416Yeah the feed’s the same as before even from before disabling the plugins. The author, category, and permalink are ALL fine.
It’s still missing the actual CONTENT
In the screen cap you sent it shows the same as I what I see, but you didn’t screen cap far enough. You’ll notice that the content:encoded only has CDATA and then NOTHING. It’s all missing whether you have all plugins enabled or disabled. It’s a theme issue that refuses to show the actual content (the actual blog post and images).
Does that make sense?
April 15, 2015 at 4:25 pm #165417I attached a screen cap to show you where and what I’m talking about

Now I saw it and the description is empty. Inside each post you should fill the Custom excerpt field that is in the Meta options-> Post Meta
I changed it in the “bandon Your Sinking Ship & Steal Your Enemy’s” post so you can see it

This way it already appears in the feed.

April 15, 2015 at 8:08 pm #165463Yeah that works, but now I would have to go back and fill out every single post we’ve done just to get it to show up. Is there not a way around this without having to create custom post meta every time?
April 15, 2015 at 11:33 pm #165492I’m afraid not. sorry
-RuiApril 15, 2015 at 11:37 pm #165494Well…ballz.

May 24, 2015 at 8:43 am #177985Hi.
+1 for this.
I use FeedBurner to connect directly to MailChimp which sends out a weekly email newsletter. With my previous theme, this content was populating well.
Here’s the link: http://feeds.feedburner.com/AlessioBresciani.
However, with Dante MailChimp seems to only send the title of each new post.
I really like the look and feel of Dante (and the backend’s flexibility), if it would be great if the feed could also provide more of the content of each post.
Please let me know if I’ve missed anything (or if the Feedburner link isn’t pulling in the content that it should be from the theme).
Thanks
Alessio
