Notice: add_utility_page is deprecated

I’m getting this message: Notice: add_utility_page is deprecated since version 4.5! Use add_menu_page() instead. in /var/sites/m/mrsfrisbeesallnaturals.com/public_html/wp-includes/functions.php on line 3658

Saw this on WordPress.org: ‘You simply never alter core files; it’s not a good idea.This is a theme pr plugin issue. Have you updated your theme and plugins?’ This prompted me to post on here.

Hi,

These are notices from the WordPress core, they are not errors.
You just need to turn off “display_errors” and or the WP_DEBUG settings, that shouldn’t be enabled in production.

Rui,

WP_DEBUG was set to False and there doesn’t seem to be a ‘display_errors’ line in the WP-config.php file.

We don’t use that in the theme, maybe some 3rd party plugin is using that old code.

Thanks – got it sorted now. I was looking at the WP-config.php file for our .co.uk site and not the .com site (it can be confusing at times!).

Changed WP_DEBUG from true to false and the message has gone now.
