I havent had much luck trying to get w3 total cache or minify plugins to work correctly with this theme.

Are there any suggestions for compressing JS and CSS, as I’d like to get the size down as much as possible,

Hi,

In my experience, automated minification never works properly; those plugin like W3 Total Cache can’t work with minification in complex themes, as W3TC doesn’t know how the scripts are loaded and used in any particular theme. It works fine for simple themes, but I would never recommend it for complex ones.

The only option would be to manually minify the files.
