What is the max image size that I should upload for blog post ( at which is wouldn’t matter if it was bigger )

The documentation shows Timeline (Standard) – 970px x 728px, (Retina) – 1940px x 1456px

Is 1940px x 1456px the biggest size that would cover all needs?

Hi,

Yes, you should upload with the biggest image size, the smaller images will be creating according to the different necessary image sizes.
