Local environment to live site migration

Do you have a procedure for upgrading from a local environment to a live site. I’ve tried this but lot of cosmetic changes have not updated. I made a bunch of changes and it seems like I’m back to square 1. Very frustrating and quite honestly very scary.

I also plan on using a staging environment. Can Atelier work with such an environment?

It’s not really our job to explain how to move the site from local to a live domain, however I’ll try to give a brief guide.

1) Export the database and zip the wp-content folder
2) Upload the database and wp-content folder to the live site.
3) Use this: https://interconnectit.com/products/search-and-replace-for-wordpress-databases/ to find and replace the localhost domain with your live domain

You may also want to backup your theme options

Hey Kyle,

I just saw this.  Thanks for the great high level pointers.  I ended up using Duplicator and that worked quite well.  Managed to setup the staging server with Bit Bucket and FT ploy and no problems so far.
