    Hi there,

I am trying to link from the portfolio gallery display to a page, rather than to the actual portfolio item.

I thought this was done in the Thumbnail menu in the portfolio item. You can see when you hover over the first 2 items, that it actually shows the link that I want to go to. However when you click the item in the grid, it directs you back to the portfolio item custom post type and not the page.

Thank you in advance for your help.

    Cheers,

    Alex

    Hi Alex,

This looks to be an issue with your permalinks setup.. Can you try going to Settings > Permalinks, and then saving again?

What do you have your permalinks set to, can you take a screenshot for me?

    Thanks,

    – Ed

We try our best – even on the weekends when possible! ๐Ÿ™‚

I’d strongly advise against using just the post name as the permalinks, have read quite a few articles which suggest that it’s really bad for performance.

Your portfolio item link for the LightPaint item seems to be set to: http://alexkess.com/websites/new/the-lightpaint-lab-workshop/ when the page link is http://alexkess.com/websites/new/workshops/the-lightpaint-lab-workshop/ ?

    Hope that helps ๐Ÿ™‚

Yep that fixed it. That was pretty dumb. Thanks so much. While i’ve got you any idea what is causing the white gap at the top?

It seems to be working fine here:
