    How can I add single-jobs.php to the child theme so I can edit how that page looks?

    All you need to do is copy across that file to the child theme, and that will be used instead of the parent theme file.

    Hmm, can you enable WP_Debug mode in your wp-config.php file so that we can see what error shows?

    Tested copying it across here and it works fine, looks like it might be a plugin issue, or you might want to contact your hosting to see if permissions are all correct?
