Hello,
I have an issue with the meta description for the product.
My site is in 2 languages. For the main (french), i have made a mistake adding a meta description but i removed it.
You can see here : http://beta.matthewcookson.com/boutique/souliers/polo-iii-dainite-bordeaux/But i do not know where to remove this meta in english, i thought it will disappear at the same time :
http://beta.matthewcookson.com/boutique/shoes/polo-iii-dainite-burgundy/?lang=enCan you tell me where i can do that or else if i can remove totally the meta description ?
Thanks
September 22, 2015 at 1:44 pm #215385Hi,
Have you edited the product in WPML: http://beta.matthewcookson.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=wpml-wcml&tab=products
Remember: Always clear WP Rocket => All Languages after making any changes.
Thanks,
David.September 22, 2015 at 1:50 pm #215389Hello David,
Yes, but the meta does not appear in WPML, that’s why.
I can only change the normal description and extract but not the meta description from you.
I have empty the cache.Thanks
MaximeSeptember 23, 2015 at 12:39 pm #215732Hi,
That is strange, have you tried searching through the strings here: http://beta.matthewcookson.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=wpml-string-translation%2Fmenu%2Fstring-translation.php.
What was the meta description you added?
Have you also logged a ticket with WPML? https://wpml.org/forums/forum/english-support/
– David.
September 23, 2015 at 1:24 pm #215749Hello David,
Yes i have tried, nothing. But the meta does not come from your theme ?
It was : Lorsque la détente se marie avec l’élégance. Bottines en kudu, fabrication blake, semelle en crêpe naturelle.
Do you think it comes from WPML ?
Thanks
Maxime

When updating translations are your clearing your WP Rocket cache also?
I think we will need you to also log a ticket with WPML: https://wpml.org/forums/forum/english-support/. Handling custom field translation should be very simple.

September 24, 2015 at 1:08 pm #216135Hello David,
In fact yesterday my website crashed with a fatal error due to the translation. I think it comes from a conflict between wmpl and the plugin you asked me to put.I have to put a backup and do everything i have done yesterday again 🙁
Is there a may to deactivate the meta from your theme ?
Best Regards
September 24, 2015 at 5:13 pm #216253Not sure I asked you to put any plugins on the site? Maybe another thread?
UNfortunately not, please contact WPML support they should be able to identify the issue.
Thanks,

Can you take a screenshot of an meta description?-Rui
September 25, 2015 at 7:31 pm #216578I have found how to fix it :
So, you need to go to WPML > WooCommerce Multilingual > General > Product Translation Interface and select “Go to the native WooCommerce product editing screen”
Then you can go to the translated product and edit that text.
September 28, 2015 at 8:18 pm #217022That’s great. Thanks for sharing.
