I just purchased Dante theme. I noticed there are two recommended plugins what are apparently need to be additionally purchased LayerSlider WP & Revolution Slider.

How imperative these two plug ins? Do I have to purchase them?
Are they required for demo content to function correctly?

The plugins come with the theme, you do not need to purchase a licence. We recommend using Revolution Slider
