    I just downloaded the latest version of Punch. Before I start working on developing my Punch wordpress theme I wish to create a child theme before I make any changes etc. I’ve read that by creating a child theme first and only making changes to the child theme is a major plus when it comes to updating the punch template to the latest version…Is this true? Ive read that it is true.

    Anyway How do I go about creating a child theme? I’m new to this blogging thing so I need child step by step instructions. Thank you.

    If I do create a child theme first, when it comes to updating my theme with the latest update, will it be easy to update or are there any instructions I should know about when updating my software?

    I’m using wordpress theme version 3.8.1.
