    Can someone tell me how to hide / remove the sorting by filter menu on the main shop page? Thanks.

    Do you mean the product categories? You need to remove it from the sidebar in Appearance > Widgets

    I would like to remove this drop down menu. I couldn’t find it in Widgets.

    You can add this to your custom css:

    .woocommerce .woocommerce-ordering select, .woocommerce-page .woocommerce-ordering select {
  display: none;
}
