I love the rollover effect for enlarging images but I have no need for image links, is it possible to apply this effect to buttons and clickable boxes in general and without the eye symbol?

I’m afraid you’d need to modify the theme to an extend that is beyond the scope of free support we can give, therefor you would need to hire a developer to help you with that.
