I am dealing with excessively slow page load times. I’ve tried a number of things to remedy the issue including working with the P3 plug in and getting my plug in speeds down to less than 2 seconds. It is impacting my users who are telling me in social media that they are having difficulty accessing my content. My YSlow results largely point back to the theme (as pasted below). I am quite frustrated, and I feel I may need to change themes.

Grade D on Make fewer HTTP requests
-This page has 11 external Javascript scripts. Try combining them into one.
-This page has 3 external stylesheets. Try combining them into one.
-Decreasing the number of components on a page reduces the number of HTTP requests required to render the page, resulting in faster page loads. Some ways to reduce the number of components include: combine files, combine multiple scripts into one script, combine multiple CSS files into one style sheet, and use CSS Sprites and image maps.

Grade C on Put JavaScript at bottom
-There are 5 JavaScript scripts found in the head of the document

Grade D on Reduce DNS lookups
-The components are split over more than 4 domains
    http://www.herown.net: 10 components, 1557.4K (324.1K GZip)
    fonts.googleapis.com: 1 component, 2.4K (0.6K GZip)
    fonts.gstatic.com: 10 components, 196.8K
    ajax.googleapis.com: 1 component, 95.7K (33.2K GZip)
    maps.gstatic.com: 2 components, 219.6K (78.9K GZip)
    s0.wp.com: 1 component, 9.3K (2.9K GZip)
    maps.google.com: 1 component, 5.0K (1.0K GZip)
    stats.wp.com: 1 component, 2.3K (0.7K GZip)
    i2.wp.com: 1 component, 93.5K
    0.gravatar.com: 1 component, 5.8K
    pixel.wp.com: 1 component, 0.05K

    Hi melodysmithjones
I am also suffering from the same problem. My website is xtreamit.com and I have also used all the options available to me :
    1. Checked which component is causing delay using P3
    2. USed w3 Total Cache(Free ver)

But still I cannot improve page load times.
If you do get a solution, plz email me as well.

I asked the developers, and they said I need to get CDN and etc.

    @melodysmithjones
You also have 24 active plugins, can you try to deactivate them and make the tests again.

You can see the speed of our demo site.
The hosting server is also crucial in the performance results.

But don’t I need a lot of these plug ins for the site to function. Many of them came with the theme like the Breadcrumb and Revolution Slider. Do I not need these plugged in for those features to work?
