Customizing Light and Dark Styles

Hi,

I would like to customize the dark and light styles, including:

– background
– header colours
– button colours
– hover colours
– etc.

Can you please tell me the best way to do this? I have hacked it together a little bit using an extra class, but it isn’t perfect. I can’t figure out how to get my buttons to change, my horizontal rule, links, and some other things.

Can you please advise?

Attached is a screen shot from my local environment of what I am trying to accomplish. You will notice I have got most of the things the colours I want them. But not everything. Thank you.
